Figures searching through the pall
Looking for some simple door.
Blood across the walls is laid,
Puddled on the ground below.
Spoiled food that someone made
Adds tenor to the fetid woe.
Corpses lie as still as stone
Watching time pass slowly by.
Spirits squalling ghostly moans,
Waltzing with the surfeit flies.
Ripples in the blood beget
Frighten crimsoned shadows cast.
Hidden eyes of rancored threat
Gaze dimly on the lurid past.
Disembodied voices lull
Children of the memory
Forever sing this woeful
Tune of death and misery.
