Edit: As of now, a lot of the missing features have been added. I will cross those out.

Before I say anything, I wish I can give a thumbs middle recommendation. If you don't like the game, good for you, you're entitled to your opinion. Yes, this game has problems, a lot of problems for that fact. BUT HEAR ME OUT PLEASE. Blame contracts for the incomplete game. Milestone has to release an MXGP & MESX licensed game every year by a FIM/Feld contract. I'm not 100% sure if this is the reason behind the scenes but think about it, Milestone is based in Italy where COVID hit hard early in the year. Due to the pandemic, they probably haven't had as much time to as they usually do to make the game, not to mention that they usually only have a 4ish month develop time. So yes, the game is incomplete but please consider that Milestone NEEDED to release the game to fulfill the yearly release contract. I'm the one usually not defending Milestone here but I feel like they need a little pass due to how tough this year has been. To those complaining about "where is the track editor" and "where are the next two tracks" they will be added within a week.

I know, I only have 2 hours in the game so far and my opinions will change. I want to get this review out ASAP because I highly doubt anyone will be viewing this game after a few days.

Here is the important part of the game, the gameplay.
  • Yes, the game is arcady. Its supposed to be. If you're complaining about it being too arcady, go back to MX Simulator or MXBikes.
  • The physics feel way better in MXGP2020 than the previous two titles, MXGPPro & MXGP2019. I really don't understand why so many people in the reviews are saying MXGP19 was great. (Once again, your opinion, you're entitled to it). In MXGP19, the ADV physics were pure garbage. Almost unplayable. Random fall offs, corners felt like ice and Tokyo drifting every corner, and stuck in loop outs when crashing just to name a few physics annoyances. Which led to having to play in the standard physics to get rid of the annoyances which meant that your steering was stiffer than corpse. Before you say "MaD cUz BaD" I've been playing Motocross games for over 15 years and have raced pro in Mx Sim for 5 years. I know the difference between being inexperienced with the ADV physics vs it being a joke. In MXGP2020, the bike actually feels grounded, no more sliding around, no more random loopouts etc. There still isn't track deformation in these games but, Milestone added inside berms and little bit of track roughness in this game which makes it feel more like a motocross game rather than a Motogp game with jumps that MXGP19 & Pro was.
  • The in air physics are quite fun. You have more freedom and it looks more natural in this game. Whips are still canned/scripted animation unfortunately but at this point, I really don't care.
Even though I have been defending this game, I still have problems with it.
  • There is an artificial bog on the bike when going up hills or steep jumps.
  • Tapping the joystick or making micro adjustments for turning looks like your rider is tank slapping in most corners.
  • Using the leaning while going slow or just over using the leaning, your rider would fall over or look like you are literally scrubbing on ground. This isn't really new but it seems more prominent in this game.
  • The jumps on the tracks are scaled too small. This is also nothing new to milestone games. On the flip side, the tracks are wider in this game. In previous titles, they felt too narrow at times.
  • The bike physics do not work well with objects/assets that aren't the ground. Good luck trying to make fun enduros that involve going over rocks.
Lastly this is all the stuff missing from the game which I know some of these are going to be resolved but some of these problems are small that I am worried will be overlooked in the next updates. (im sure I am missing a few)
  • Obviously no track editor and missing two official tracks as stated earlier but will be added next week.
  • Can't resize your fonts on your jersey unlike previous titles.
  • Can't load your setup in online races & time attack mode.
  • Time attack leader board is missing.
  • You have to re-select which physics, rider aids, etc. before EVERY online race.
  • On the Milestone website they advertised an increase in online lobby size but its still a max of 12 players.
  • Free ride map is rather lacking along with not a whole lot of enduro support unlike the MXGP19 free ride map had.

This has been a quickly written review as I know I have missed some points. I still want to make it clear that if you don't like the game, I am not forcing ANYONE to like it because I do. I just want to bring up the points of what Milstone had to possibly hurdle during development of this game.

When it was announced, I had zero expectations due to Star Wars being stale in the recent years. Even after friends who were saying how good of a game this is, I still had slight doubts. Waited about half a year to snag the game on sale, and ooooooh boy did I enjoy this. The lightsaber combat felt fluid accompanied with the satisfying animations; unlocking more force powers throughout the story was a blast; the story was fun to following learning about a new cast in the eyes of Cal Kestis; graphics were very pleasant to look at; the music score was phenomenal, it definitely made me feel like I was in the Star Wars movies (AND THEY GOT THE HU TO PLAY SOME TRACKS! YES!!) I could go on and on but wow! I was Thoroughly surprised, at how fantastic this game was! Worth the pickup!

Pretty good fun, especially if you have friends to get a custom match going. It has a fun and easy to pick up gameplay design which is similar to Dead by Daylight.
There are still A LOT of kinks (yes, its beta) that needs to be fixed along with some characters being extremely OP or just straight up useless. There are many bugs, glitches, optimization issues that need work (yes, its beta).
Once you put a little bit of time into the game, you can easily figure out the cheese to make yourself practically unstoppable to the point where the it starts to become tiresome.
All in all its a game to sink a couple of hours into. Its a free beta, so why not try it? But, I do personally believe that when its goes full release and have to spend money on the game, I don't think it would be worth buying. I do not see the game's longevity lasting for more than a month and that's being generous.

Monster Energy Supercross - The Official Videos is the newest installment of motocross games made by Milestone Games. Race all the supercross replica tracks from the 2017 season againts all your favorite professional riders from the 250 class and the 450 class (Besides a few riders whose contracts won't allow them in the game). In this review, I will list everything off with a "Good, Bad, and Ugly" format. (wuv u grant <3) I'd also like to point out that I have been playing motocross games since Motocross Madness 2. I've played all the MX vs ATV games (besides Supercross/Encore), all the MXGP games, MX Bikes, and I race MX Simulator professionally. Nonetheless I know my moto games. Let's get into the review.

THE GOOD:
The graphics: Oh man did Milestone get this down very darn well. They absolutly killed it with the graphics in this game. Althought they aren't anything too impressive compared to other big AAA studio companies, they are still hands down the best graphics in any motocross game made.

Career mode: As usual, Milestone lets you race all 17 Monster Energy Supercross tracks from last year in a career mode. You can race a full weekend with Heats, Semis, LCQ, Main events with the actual Supercross formatting. Very nice.

Customization: Once again, Milestone continues to impress with their customization. Just like MXGP3, pretty much all the gear lines, helmet brands, goggles, boots, etc. are in the game along with TONS of options to choose from. There are a few brands like Bell Helmets that aren't in the game but, its the not end of the world. As usual, you can change the colours to all your parts. Graphics kits are another story though which will be in the "Bad" later.

Fonts: FINALLY!!! Milestone has finally updated their horrible comic sans looking fonts from the previous games. Not only that, you can actually resize the numbers on your bikes! A step up for sure but, I feel as if they could add more fonts. Thank you Milestone.

The #1 Plate: THANK YOU!!! Finally you can run the #1 after you win a 250 and 450 championship.

In-game Track Editor: I feel as if the MXGP games have came and gone just like that. There just wasn't enough tracks and people would get bored of the game quickly. Now in this new SX game, you can make your own tracks with the in-game editor! It's so nice to have an easy to use editor instead of games like MX Sim or Reflex where it takes days to make tracks to how you want it. Only complaint is that with the limited objects to use, it is sometimes hard to get sections exactly how you want it.

New physics: Like everyone else, I was worried that the physics were going to absolutely suck from the early gameplay. It honestly looked like MXGP 3.5 Supercross Edition where you could just bounce your way through rhythem sections, case jumps like nothing while still making up time. Well, Milestone managed to fix Supercross nicely. While it does feel like MXGP somewhat, it still sort of feels like an entire new game. As usual, Milestone manages to get the feel of the bike pretty well in corners and braking.

Track scaling: One of the key selling points was the tracks. Milestone managed to laser scan or something (I don't know exactly) which made the scaling very nice. They managed to struggle with that in their previous games. I won't lie that some sections aren't perfect but it still is good.

Challenges: A nice little addition to lengthen the game's life is challenges. You can do things like "Get 35,000 credits" in time attack or other challenges and the game will award you with profile icons, butt patches, and titles.

THE BAD:
Skill points: Milestone added some sort of new skill point system where if you land a jump clean, drift, throw a fat scrub, etc. the game will reward you points that pop up on your screen. Thankfully you can remove it in the HUD options. I get that they want to add new things but I personally thought it was unnecessary.

Drifting: Last I checked, this wasn't called The Official Monster Energy Flat Track Game. In real life you don't see people drifting the corners and coming out with an advantage. In this game, drifting is almost encourage.

Graphic kits: Good lord most of these kits ugly. There are some kits that look good but for the most part, only some work well with a few bikes. The game gives you more "stock" kits that look decent aswell, but you can't run them in career mode as you are forced to use the "sponsored" kits. This is highly annoying because you only have 12 sponsored kits to choose from. C'mon Milstone, give us more and not make us pay for them in future DLC.

Ralph Sheheen is way too scripted: I get that he isn't a voice actor or anything but you could tell that he read off a script. There aren't many different dialouge options that he says either.

Track cutting: This really sucks. If you think you're fast or know you're fast and want to know how your lap times are holding up in the world, don't even bother looking. It is so easy to corner cut orskip sections that people cheese the hell out of it. Your abosolute banger of a lap time will still be 7 seconds off the top lap.

THE UGLY:
Oh man this list is going to big huge.
The AI: Le sigh... Milestone can never get the AI right. If you are actually wanting to do a full length career season, you will get so tired of racing the AI. They are slow as f*** EVEN on the most realistic settings without any assists on. The 250s can hardly, if not ever, hit the big supercross triples. Most of them can hardly hit the rythem sections properly. They don't even ride the berms as they just cut it into the inside. They all bunch up on the start and you can fly right past them while they are literally stuck on top of each other. The list goes on. 450s are definantly better but you can still go out and beat them all day long. The career has no replayability.

You can't ride for official or factory teams: What the actual F*** Milestone? This feature was what most people looked forward to and you decide to just not add it in this time? Good god. Have fun running your 12 sponsored bikes everyone.

Multiplayer lag: Milestone never seems to get multiplayer working properly. The lag in multiplayer sometimes makes this un-playable. There is some sort of lag bubble that flings tuff blocks all over the track which practically makes it into some sort of endurocross game. You pretty much have to turn collisions off in order to race other people because their lag will just throw you over the berms. Funny how there even is a no collisions feature in the first place. It's almost like Milestone knew they can't fix it. Hmmmm...

Bugs, bugs, and even more BUGS: With all the bugs, it feels as if Milestone released a 70% finised game. I have friends who got stuck with a 450 in the 250 season, people randomly getting 1 billion+ credits, audio randomly stops working, random game crashes, the infamous "Please Wait" loading screen that takes a couple of minutes to pass, black side plate numbers on the 450 when you have the red plate, the multiplayer lag, can't select anything in the menus sometimes, and countless other minor bugs that I can't think of on the top of my head.

I ran out of room that Steam allows. If you are interested to finish "The Ugly", I'll leave the link here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vROtF-Nde_3S9xAWS9MZ70kzYuj

CONCLUSION
Over all the game isn't terrible, just painfully average as everyone expected. It's fun to hop on with your friends and throw down some hot laps againts them and its fun to try out your friends tracks with the editor. I just wish Milestone wasn't so lazy with the bugs, AI, and other little details they missed. For people who are motocross enthusiest, I say that you can get a career or two done then move on to the multiplayer. If you are a casual motocross gamer, I think it would be perfect for you.
Score: 6/10 *Too many bugs and the AI just doesn't cut it
