The classic returns, with updated visuals and incorporating ideas from Risk of Rain 2. Couch Co-op still has the same camera issues. Great game.

The game has lost some of the details that made the first one the interesting and worthwhile experience that it was, but it's still a fairly enjoyable puzzle game.

Good game, many of the EA issues have been remedied but not all of them. The difficulty is a wall on tactician, wandering into the wrong place in act 1 is a death sentence, but once you pass that hurdle nothing is particularly challenging again. Too many random enemies have ranged or aoe attacks with any telegraphing or logic behind them. Goblin raiders with aoe arrows still doesn't make any sense, but worse are things like spiders spitting aoe poison. Interestingly this lessens as the game progresses, with the only real surprise later on being Steel Watcher's having aoe basic attacks that knock prone as well as fire that ignores resistance, and boss mechanics that are unique to their fights (which is a good thing). I'm not a fan of seeing +2 due to difficulty in the combat log, its particularly arbitrary with spell DCs when you could just increase the enemies base stats.
The Ring of Mind Shielding not doing anything of note the entire game, despite wearing it from the moment I acquired it was a frustration. Omeluum doesn't fall under the influence of the elder brain, you don't become immune to its effects, even just the random quakes, no dialogue, nothing. Too many minor plot issues arise as things were obviously dropped. The lack of any reaction to using or not using the Tadpoles is particularly egregious.

Still an overall great game, i just wish it felt finished.

Every single enemy, from random goblins to spiders, throws AoE DoT effects on the floor which nigh guarantee you lose concentration.
Why am i stuffing my face with raw potatoes to gain health?
Multiplayer is broken, constant crashing, arbitrarily being pulled into encounters or not, horrendous load times. Being forced to both realize your friends initiated a conversation, click on them, and then get a clipped dialogue section is frustrating. Clearly needs an option to automatically listen in on nearby conversations if nothing else.
Either i'm the unluckiest player in the world, or every enemy has far too high armor class, since archery fighting style and +3 dex modifier isn't enough to hit even half my attacks, regardless of positioning.
I found a hidden entrance to a place, which seemed to break whatever flow the NPCs were meant to have, as i immediately confronted a random child for no reason about nothing, and then they got pissed off and none of them will talk to me.

The game is thoroughly unenjoyable at the moment.

A fun little game, it plays like some sort of pvp semi-random tower defense game. The specific numbers/abilities need some work, and i think that the game would be a much more satisfying experience with an increase in the number of abilities available per hero and a decreased reliance on lucky pulls since falling behind due to pure luck is common and hard to crawl back from.
If they add more options, particularly game modes like a team v team mode, a co-op pve mode, or a "campaign/story" mode for a single player experience, this could become a staple of my PC.

One of the best Star Wars games ever made, it compares favorably to Empire at War. While the interface takes some getting used to, and ground battles are a straight number simulation, it has incredible depth if you are willing to give it a chance.
While the RTS style space battles aren't as dramatic as EaW, i personally prefer the damage system used. Instead of commanding units to destroy specific systems, something quite difficult in the midst of combat, systems slowly acrue damage over the coarse of the battle. Shields slowly deplete, the generators being overloaded under long periods of fire, while superior firepower can blast through them more directly. Once you hit hull, weapons, engines, hyperdrive, shields, ships take lasting damage which requires significant downtime to fully repair.
The galaxy map has a wide range of options available to you, allowing you to send characters on missions ranging from diplomacy, to espionage, to sabotage. You can supplement named characters with specialized commando units, a good choice to use as decoys on dangerous missions. Your Protocol droid helper, C-3PO when playing alliance, can also automate basic functions which is quite helpful for newer players. Automating construction will have all available construction yards produce mines/refinerys, which generate resources for use elsewhere, while automating garrisons will distribute trained troops throughout your controlled space, prioritizing worlds near revolt and high value production planets.

Age of Wonders III is a disappointing sequel to a disappointing sequel. The original game wasn't perfect mechanically, but had a great depth of lore and unique content, featuring dual campaigns which branched and featured various races. This game has but a single primary campagin, and as far as i played into it, was extremely linear.

Still i have hope that additional content and the potential for a fun multiplayer game will make Age of Wonders 3 worth picking up, just wait for a sale.

This game wasn't for me. The lack of cohesive ideas or direction were jarring, invasions/summoning failed to work the vast majority of the time and while the combat was moderately enjoyable the game failed to hook me at any point.

Game is a good, fun RPG combined with a fantastic rendition of South Park. The gameplay is good, but nothing spectacular/inovative, but it's perfect for any South Park fan.
