TL;DR: Abandoned, some devs now working on Crypto scam instead.

Was following development for this game for a few years. Game has gone quiet and Steam has seen nothing since September of 2020. Game is abandoned. Do not waste your time or money here. Also looks like 2 of the Devs have since moved onto to working for a VRMMO Crypto scam. If that's not a sign that things aren't going to get better, I don't know what is.

@everyone Greetings operators,

We've been looking for options on how to continue developing (in a good, healthy, sustainable way) and at the moment we are focused towards a very promising deal for Drone. While we cannot provide more information at this point, we're looking at a secure future for Drone.

The project is still alive and we're not giving up.
