the best game ever made probably

only 6 hours in and already fought one of the most memorable and fun fights in any video game I've ever played. The quality of life improvements are very welcome, the game play is tight, and as satisfying as ever, this is monster hunter at its best.

Optimisation is a concern, the visuals are good, but they should not be tanking high end pc's, very reminiscent of dragons dogma 2 release. Definitely runs better than the beta test for me, so if you had middling performance there you should see improvements now, i never dropped below 60. (i do have a 4060 and using frame gen)

There are some visual bugs as you get deeper into the game, that i imagine will be patched out over the next couple of weeks, which is disappointing for a £60 game.

Despite all this Wilds is incredibly fun. Its visceral and exciting. the new monsters are visually impressive and incredibly satisfying to fight.

whilst the game has its fair share of problems, it is a very fun and engaging experience.

Its far more similar to dragon age 2 than any of the other entries into the series.

It took a good couple hours to wrap my head around, but once it clicked i realised that i was playing something really special.

The Art Direction alone is phenomenal, with every character, object and landscape looking visually stunning and appealing.

Of what I've explored, the map is filled with intelligent design, and packed with secrets. The combat is indeed very soulslike, and rewards timing, spacing and skill. However much of the gameplay itself is far more reminiscent of an aRPG like Path of Exile or Diablo. If you are a fan of either genre I heavily recommend you pick up the game and give it a spin to see if its for you.
