This game has a lot of potential, however I dont know if going to early access was the right move with the current state of the game.

The game visually is pretty appealing and I absolutely love the idea of the game! This is something that I'm going to stick on my wish list and keep tabs on until it's more stable.

The issues that I saw in the short time I played the game:

visual recoil is absolutely insane and this is one of my biggest pet peeves in games where you're playing a soldier, special forces, some sort of operative, or anyone that one would assume has had hundreds and hundreds of hours of practice handling, firing, and manipulating firearms. Every game studio seems to think that an operator or special agent would be firing an m4 with all the grace and balance of a new born baby deer standing up for the first time. Considering this game appears to be focused on the PVE element, lowing the recoil really doesnt hurt the gameplay in anyway, but only serves to make the player feel more engaged in the role of a special operative.

To the devs, id love if your team took a moment to reflect on the gunplay and find sources to draw inspiration from, there are many great gun channels on youtube that you can observe and see how they handle their firearms, watch some videos of special forces doing live fire training, and John Wick is an extremely good reference point, there are some great behind the scenes footage. Dependent on your budget, it could be a fun experience to go and get some real life fire arms training on something like 3 gun competitive shooting!

another aspect of the gameplay in the one mission I played that was frustrating was the lack of ammo, not every enemy dropped a gun, and the guns they did drop only provided to me what was left in the magazine. I think it would make for a better gameplay loop if 1 in 5 enemies drop around 2 magazines worth of ammo, this would keep solo players able to stay in the fight.

The extract time is clearly meant for people playing in teams, because after finishing all the objective solo, I had no ammo left and was low on health, but would have been able to extract if it wasnt for being bum rushed by a sudden surge of enemies right as the nearly minute long extract time started. It may be beneficial to evaluate the application of shorter extract times for solo players to ensure that regardless of how you choose to play, the game can still be a fun experience.

Screen tearing was unbearable at times, when i went to fire the guns, my frames would bottom out, and gameplay became very choppy. This makes this unplayable for me right now and was the driving factor in requesting a refund

As of writing this post, it didnt appear that any lobbies were active right now, which is understandable due to the pretty new status of the game.

All in all I think that this game has massive potential to provide an extremely fun gameplay loop that would keep me wanting to come back for more, I look forward to watching the development until it appears more ready for actual consistent gameplay. At that point I hope to re-write this review and change the status to recommended.

I dont know what mouth breathing dev decided that on a STORY mission that REQUIRES you to find 3 seperate keys for 3 separate trucks, that it would be a genius and enriching game decision to put the key cards on the horde of zombies that you have to kill, then proceed to have the bodies de-spawn by the time your fight is over, so now youre stuck walking around for an hour looking at the ground trying to find an olive green bag hidden in a bush just so you can progress the mission.

ABSOLUTE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CINIMA. if you personally know or work with this person, show this to them.
I genuinely dont know if i would recommend this game or not yet, so ill give it a thumbs up and write a proper review when/if i ever beat the game

This game is a genuine breath of fresh air in the survival gaming community. I genuinely enjoy managing my electricity, building battery banks, picking up my own poop to grow crops, and all the other fun and funny things in the game. This game is extremely fun with friends, and even if you dont dump 300 hours into the game, its a good 20+ hours of memorable gameplay and laughs with your buddies.

As excited as I am to get an american made pick up truck, I will continue to struggle to understand why they are so resistant to adding a vanilla 1500/f150 - 3500/f350 series pick up truck with a normal bed into the game

Dont be fooled by the promo videos, this game plays and feels like a title from the original xbox. Everything from the menus through the core gameplay and gunfighting is clunky and feels awful from the start of your first match. Frankly blown away that someone who had a hand in developing squad could deliver this turd in a box to the early access market for $30. It is an act of divine intervention that they spared me the hastle of requesting a refund, by giving us two days of free play. Although all I needed was 13 minutes to come to this soundly thought out conclusion.

first match:
load in, my neck breaks as my character model turns at mach 5 turning a full 360 degrees 27 times.
lower my mouse sensitivity to 10, so I can look around.
walk nearly 5 feet and reach the first objective
helicopter is on fire, so we just kinda stand there waiting for it to go out.
read the keybinds bc im bored waiting
'P' is how to ping. I couldnt think of a better key to let my teammates know where the enemies are in a timely manner.
some mouth breathing group with less situational awareness than a newborn wonders out of the fog
i manage to kill one through the painted on reticle on my NERFtm scope
we walk the 5 feet back to the exfil
"mortar fire detected, take cover" says an AI voice
we stand in dead silence as nothing happens.
5 minutes pass, helo hasnt showed up, decide to walk around a little
someone was trying to sneak up on us, shoot at him while aiming with my NERFtm scope and hit him
doesnt die
he trys hiding by a train, but doesnt realize i can still see his entire body through the rails, easily finish him off.
we win.

This is truly one of the games of all time, 0/10 experience

Despite the DDOS attacks taking the servers down, my friends and I are patient and constantly excited to get back into the game; Frankly the modding community deserves a thunderous round of applause for the things theyve managed to craft. Just like Elden ring, this is the ARMA that finally hit perfectly for me.

honestly one of those rare games that had my sides splitting from laughing and enjoying the experience. I really think this game has a mountain of potential if development continues, I'd love to see them add hot routes and a little better UI. overall 10/10, for the price i cant see anyone not finding some level of enjoyment from this

Look, if what you're looking for is a smooth polished gaming experience, dont waste your time here. THIS IS AN EARLY ALPHA OF A GAME.
This game has a monumental amount of potential and I cant wait to see the devs continue to iron out the issues, make fixes, and build this game up to its full potential. absolutely worth your time and support if youre the type of player than can look past bugs and help the game get through its infancy.

EDIT 1: I also would like to take a moment to appreciate the devs for making sure they get hotfixes out as often as they can. This is going to be a long and rough process while you all work hard to get this game running smooth, but I greatly look forward to seeing your progress.
