This game is addictive, so beware. Lots of funny moments, and a very satisfying base building mechanic, but there's no getting around it: putting people in a cutthroat environment brings out the absolute worst in them, whether they're naked on a beach or sitting on top of a castle with an AK-47. Play at your own peril.

(That being said, there's no way I'll be able to put this game down anytime soon.)

This game is well past its prime, but of course it is still played, astoundingly, to the credit of the game devs and the folks at Valve. This is one of the classics not because of it's outstanding story or innovative game design, but precisely the opposite- the lack of instruction in this game presents one of the first true sandbox games, a genre which now dominates the rest of gaming.
