Glitchdivers,

I do love the game, I have tons of hours into it, lots of replayability. But I have hit the skill level that most of my deaths are limitations of the game. Like getting stuck in terrain, enemies popping your head off instantly, strange damage and ragdoll values.
It has became too frustrating at above level 7 difficulty to manage what the enemy is doing and what the game engine might Bork me into.

Armor values are almost completely pointless for some enemies. acid from terminids is a dice roll if it deals any damage at all or splashes you into instant death regardless of where the visual spray actually is. Fly terminids deal damage with their bodies even when they die so if two dead ones you just killed are hurling towards you- guess what. Its the same as them being alive. YIppee, imagine doing that for 40 mins and wasting stims to corpses. the jumping bugs follow your model, not where you are so sometimes if you jump early they just follow you all the way with jetpacks or the warp pack.

Illuminate is just a mistake in terms of what the hell is going on. leviathans are still super oppressive and the time commitment to them is extensive compared to anything else in the arsenal of the illuminate. Combined with elevated overseers, if both focus you at the same time multiple times; its just not a fun experience while your half stuck in a wall.

Bots are alright, its just their insane rocket volume; every enemy and its left foot seems to have a rocket that causes ragdoll.

All in all, huge arsenal of weapons and strats, but most are so niche or mandatory with other stratagems it still feels restrictive.

- A further update on this since I have played some more, it will still be negative. The game still has tremendous issues with game 'feel' and the new enemies on Bug, Bot and Illuminate front feel janky and hamfisted difficulty spikes that don't feel as rewarding as previous enemies in the gameplay loop. This is further exacerbated by the clunky movement system and ragdoll mentioned earlier in my rant- where you are often locked out of movement by ragdoll or a triggering animation like vaulting which leads to death almost directly by those mechanics.

Just don't play in open, seems the scum of the galaxy does proliferate.
Engineers will be camped, your fav stations will be watched waiting for you to leave. It ruins the fun, so do the solid- live in a lonely universe.

Excellent game. Strangely nostalgia inducing and very very scenic and beautiful. Its a real gem.

It is an amazing co-op game, if you don't mind a closed game-play loop, gather and combat with some perks, skins and weapon modifications then its a great choice. The community or at least the general in game atmosphere is very friendly in terms of player interaction (Not saying there isn't bad experiences). Grump dwarfs may apply but that is a given for any game. The real challenges and goals are getting into deep dives and further refining your dwarfs: Cosmetically, Weapon or perk wise is a fun experience. More options would be welcome but everything works as intended.
The missions are random and the challenge for the mission types is how winding and geometrically difficult the terrains and local hazards present- along with the billions of Glyphid beasts being spawned on the regular. I'd recommend friends however the discord is well organised and can easily be used for VoIP experience coordination if the in-game VoIP and chat isn't your kinda thing.

A few things that are learned from playing is:
! Don't activate the MULE button unless everyone is ready- and the map is explored.
! Higher than level 3 Danger ratings require good coordination and skill, do expects kicks to happen more often if you flunk about. (Somethings people are just grumpy but there may be warrant for them to complain at you personally.)
! Always watch the ceiling.
! It's courtesy to reply to ROCK AND STONE with your own.
! Be wary of spam, pinging a object consecutively to gather attention on it can be fine in certain scenarios but doing it frequently will probably make someone want to kick you.
! Its alright to explore to be aware of where your teammates are, if there together and you aren't you are the straggler- and that's fine but don't call for help every 0.2 seconds after you go down.(caveat, if you wander above level 3- you'll get most likely warned and kicked if your a repeat straggler.)
! Enjoy! Getting annoyed at teammates not doing their job is. Infuriating as we can all agree but improvise. Adapt. Overcome.
! Use your mobility and utility items respective to your class. Platforms, Light and shields as well as the drillers digger are amazing tools, they really are the difference between life and death.
! If someone joins to immediately press the MULE Button as you are all still exploring- you are perfectly warranted to feel peeved.

Its like a 2004 rpg, with some missing mechanics and a archaic UI system. You can't quick assign quick item/skills- You have to go through like 3 menus and assign each thing that way every single time. Combat is stunty between like 3 animations of block, swing and wow skill- which takes like a minute regen AND it does F all.

When I take damage from a human they do like 40 damage, I kill them- their weapon does 12. \0/ what? I know we "aren;t the chosen one" but neither are they! Try blocking them as best you can but the blocks super quick and last as quickly as it arrived but the enemies attack takes like 2 seconds to rev up so you can tell when its gonna hit you- you just know its coming and can do ♥♥♥♥ all.

Its unfulfilling within the first hour, a shipwrecked because I went adventuring cause my grandma was a fop and ♥♥♥♥♥♥ over the town; take a hike. Why would you stay if the town shafts you in the first minute of gameplay with horrible voice acting and meagre reason to even want to keep your light house. Never mind the fact the people that accuse you just help you the moment that event passes like they are bipolar or scripted.... poorly.

TLDR: Game is like Risen- a mess but probably worth it to some fetishistic people.

Literally trash. Want tanks? you also gotta fight planes- want planes, well to bad your not an ace. Want ships- HAHA HA; Honestly I just am tired with the tiers, the battle ratings. The grind is alright but its just absolutely everything else; the game does not feel rewarding anymore- if you win you get up-tier eventually or dumped into the most horrible teams as some form of counter balance. People are like bias, bias bias etc. Honestly their are just good tanks in a lot of tiers but the problem is there isn't a lot of other tanks to match the quality of that tank in its respective tier- and when there is, it is significantly better; this is most noticeable later than early on; but at that point you've burned enough time that you WANT to enjoy it but are catch'd by the fact you've wasted life doing it.

Rant aside, tank classifications :
AA ≠ Aircraft - most are open top meaning a plane can just pep your general area and kill you, if not the crash will!
Tank Destroyers - I am deliberately crippling myself for penetration values that I still can't pen.
Light Tanks- I only exist in lower tiers or revised tech trees :D and when they exist you want them gone- they will just flank you every single time. (My pen stop values are somehow just as effective as mediums)
Medium Tanks- I try my best to be a mix of both worlds and instead cry at night that I am indecisive. (My pen values are just right, not.)
Heavy Tanks- I have a glandular problem and sometimes my turret traverse is insane or anaemic.(WHY CAN EVERYTHING KILL ME.)

It just won't work. I've tried all sorts of trouble shoots and at my wits end I just settled for the first Stronghold Crusaders.
I don't know how a even older games seems to have less issues than this. Go figure.

Its a nice game, there is alot of potential and I hope the work continue, not many games with magic being the inherent main feature and the game does it fairly decently. More spells or the ability to make nice custom spells would be sweet but ofc time constaints and the like.

The map is a bit empty- so that players can fill it up ofc but NPC towns and garrisons would spice things up for Wizards who like to RP etc.

Either way worth a go with friends, you can set up a custom server have a good time- a better change from who can make the best 'box' and gun Survival games out there.
