Ruined by forced online only multiplayer. This game could easily be singleplayer and nothing would change for the average player except for the better.

A fun concept that is very unfortunately ruined by a timer. "Just remove the timer, you can do that now" Doesn't matter. If you remove the timer then you can no longer get achievements, and even worse, you cannot make progress or unlock anything.

The game won't even launch, and judging by how long this has been going on, Ubi-♥♥♥♥♥ is too lazy to fix it + they force their abhorrent third party launcher on you to play a game you bought on Steam and it still doesn't work properly.

For a game all about creating words, the dictionary is disappointingly lacking. It feels like something very simple to implement properly, so how the developer has gone about adding words, I cannot be sure. Regardless, the entire premise of the game is failed by the poor execution. Hopefully, this can be fixed in the future, as it seems enjoyable should the aforementioned issue be resolved.

The auto-aim system is the worst I've seen in a game so far. I've seen the reason for the way it works is due to turret rotation speed, but I digress, it is 10 times worse than just positioning yourself so that the closest enemy is always within a good degree of your turrets. The way it works now, you are basically locked in moving in a certain direction because the auto-aim targets the closest enemy relative to where your LOS of your turret is, so if you try to move away from a large pack and enemies spawn in that direction and block you off, you're screwed.

The developer should either change the auto-aim to a traditional "closest target" style or implement various options so people can choose what they find works best, but as far as I've seen so far from other players, the vast majority do not like the auto-aim. As for now, I find the game out of my tolerance to play, but if the aforementioned feature were added I would give it another shot as it seemed enjoyable when I wasn't getting screwed my the aiming.

I was worried it'd be bad, but it's good. With the recent performance patch as well, this game is an easy recommend for me. The price is steep no matter how good the game is, so I won't say you need to get it now, but when it goes on sale, I do recommend picking it up, very enjoyable. If I wasn't biased towards Borderlands 2 I'd be tempted to say it ties for #1 place, but the story in Bl2 cannot be beat. Gameplay wise, I do have to admit that due to BL2s age, BL4 beats it out as it has more depth to new mechanics and the combat in general.

Astrometica is a wonderfully optimized early access donut collector game, that reminds me of early Subnautica days. As someone with hundreds of hours in Subnautica starting well before 1.0, this is definitely a positive. Although in early access, this game has a great polish to it that makes me excited for the future. The environment and overall graphical design is gorgeous, the music is amazing, there are little to no performance issues, and the dev is active and passionate. I can foresee myself putting hundreds of hours into this game already.

While I did say this game reminds me of Subnautica, I'd like to point out this game has enough originality that you cannot say it's a clone. It would be like calling Path of Exile 2 and Diablo 4 a clone, ridiculous. Ignore the comments that state otherwise because they clearly looked at similarities without the bigger picture. Certain things look similar, as in the futuristic design styles. Some aspects like scanning fragments are similar, yes. Believe it or not, Subnautica is not the first or the last to incorporate these things, so using another game as an excuse not to buy this one or give it a bad review is disingenuous. If the majority of people thought like that, we'd see a lot fewer games in the world. This is no ripoff, this is a game that took inspiration and made a good experience with it.

While yes, there is the occasional bug, it is more than tolerable, especially for an early access experience. I went 20 hours before encountering anything and when checking the Discord, it was already being tracked and worked on for the next patch. Regardless of it being singleplayer, Astrometica has an awesome community that I highly recommend being a part of if you plan on playing the game.

If my mediocre review didn't convince you, at the very least, I recommend wish listing the game and tracking it on its way to 1.0, but I highly suggest you give it a shot now. This game will have immense replayability as a survival, and like Subnautica, an amazing story to go along with it. Safe travels, and happy donut hunting.

I've only been able to play 10 minutes so far because the sheer amount of people trying to login right now, but from what I was able to play, the combat was so incredibly smooth and clean. This is the ARPG of the future. Another L for Blizzard Drones.

UPDATE: Have been playing for a while now and can easily stand by my previous statement.
