In September 2010, Gabe Newell said in an interview with PC Gamer that Valve would be revealing three surprises over the next twelve months "at least". One of these "surprises" is widely believed to be linked to Episode Three. Parts of the interview can also be found on GameSpot and IGN.[source?] Also, a PC Gamer special on Valve during the same month, known as "Valve Week," revealed that Episode 3 is apparently in active development, with Gabe pointing the finger at Doug for the lack of information on the game.
