Even after 17 hours of playtime, this game still gives me goosebumps.

The graphics are alright, the acting is fine for the most part, the mechanics are pretty cool. What this game excels at is atmosphere. Everything is quiet, except for the sounds of the rain against the windows, and then suddenly you see something in your peripheral vision - maybe you just imagined it? You go back to work, embalming eery looking bodies and when you least expect it, the light turns off and you can see the body move in the darkness.

From little jumpscares like that to full on demonic happenings, this game does it all so well that even after seeing every single event in the game I still jump and get an uneasy feeling whenever something happens.

This game is an easy recommend to anyone who wants to feel scared.
Although I can not recommend going for 100%. It took me hours to embalm 100 bodies, that is no ♥♥♥♥ where the vast majority of my playtime comes from... I did all there was to do in under 7 hours, before grinding for the last two achievements.

Alrighty, I just finished Maneater (+ Truth Quest DLC) and let me tell you about it...

Shark swim, shark eat, shark grow. It's as simple as that. The gameplay doesn't change from the first two minutes all the way to the end of the roughly 15 hour long game. There is some build variety, but it barely changes the already established gameplay so it doesn't make much difference except for stats.

The gameplay loop consists of you swimming around very dense and beautifully designed canals, swamps, abandoned sealife-esque areas and the ocean, eating assortments of aquatic creatures or humans either for quests or upgrade materials. There are three types of collectibles you can find which can be pretty fun to do, as there is "shark-platforming" as Skill Up on YouTube put it.

You can attack by biting or slamming enemies with your tail. The tail attack is pretty much useless though, so I didn't use it more than 20 times in my 18 hours with the game. The combat is pretty bare bones as such and, while fun at first, gets repetitive very quickly as it's about the only thing you'll be doing in this game. There is a lock-on mechanic that has more often than not stopped me from attacking anything (especially on land) and that's been a real hassle in the past few hours.

Swimming feels great and is very intuitive. Not much more to say to that honestly. It feels like it should and that's great. As I said the maps are beautifully designed and all areas feel distinct enough to keep them apart easily.

Now, this game is an RPG. There are leveled enemies and you can upgrade your abilites and perks by gathering materials, which you do by eating the right types of fish. There are perks that give you more materials per kill etc. so materials were hardly ever an issue. By the time the game ended I had to explicitly grind only twice to upgrade a body part or perk to the highest level (which wasn't necessary but I wanted it so it's fine really.) I also leveled ridiculously fast by collecting the caches around the map so I was pretty overleveled for the second half of the game. Technically you can explore most areas at any level, but the game will organically lead you through it during the story anyway. I did go to the last biome before reaching it's recommended level, which made the game really tense and it was an interesting change of pace.

There are optional bosses in form of shark hunters that are ranked in an infamy system. Each boss appears after you kill enough sharkhunters (which in turn trigger when you kill humans.) These sharkhunters are annoying as ♥♥♥♥ and will relentlessly hunt you down every time you kill people. Unfortunately, every area has at least two such quests connected to it so expect to see them often if you want to do every quest. Killing these bosses rewards you with new perks and bodyparts for your shark. Neat.

The "story" in this game is as bare bones as it gets and calling it a story is giving it too much credit. The game is set as a reality TV river monster show that follows Scaly Pete, your nemesis, as he hunts you down. There are short cutscenes in between quests where you watch Pete talk to the cameramen about his past or whatever, but it was never remotely interesting or creative. I think this was intentional, but it being intentional doesn't make it any less boring. Besides these cutscenes, there is a narrator annoyingly commenting on your every move at all times. You can luckily disable him in the settings.

The DLC is more of the same repetitive stuff you do during the main game, only more annoying. The humans you have to kill shoot you now and the infamy system gets more challenging due to the upgraded boats of the DLC enemies. It does however add time trials which are pretty fun but can be beaten with the slowest parts in the game anyway.

This may sound pretty negative over all, but I had some mindless fun with Maneater that I would have enjoyed way more if I wasn't going for the 100%. I'd give this game a 7/10 in it's best parts. I'd say don't buy it for 35 bucks, but on discount right now it's alright.

Let me take you back to release weekend - April 4th of 2020 to be exact. COVID has everybody at home and in lockdown. I see this game releases. "Hm, I really enjoyed RE7 and RE2R, I'm probably going to enjoy this game too." I think to myself. So I buy it and gather my buddies on Discord to play it.

A good 8 hours later we're still in the call, watching the last cutscene of this game. The sun rises, I look out ouf my window to see the sun irl rising as well. A truly magical moment.

I had played through this game in one sitting. I was captivated. That is what I think of when I hear Resident Evil 3 Remake. Not how short it is, not how much content has been cut, none of that. But all of the criticisms you've heard elsewhere sadly still apply.

Out of all the new Resident Evil games to come out in the past few years (meaning 7, 2R, 3R, 8, 4R and 9) this is by far the worst. First things first, the content of this game is laughable compared to the others. You can realistically finish this game in 6 hours for your first playthrough. I took my sweet ass time and finished it in around 8 hours, as I said. I had lots of fun though, even if it was a short game. Let's break it down.

The story in this game is servicable. Nothing very good, nothing very bad, just servicable. We follow Jill Valentine, a returning character from Resident Evil 1, during the 1998 T-Virus outbreak in Raccoon City. The very same outbreak happening in Resident Evil 2. As someone who hasn't played RE1, I understood all story beats perfectly and there is no need to have played RE1 or even 2 for that matter. The pacing is fine, although on repeat playthroughs it can be a bit jarring. Lots of setpieces and scripted events that make the game feel tightly packed but it doesn't overstay it's welcome. There are sections where you play as a different character, but these add to the gameplay rather than take away from them (looking at you MJ stealth sections *cough cough*)

Speaking of gameplay, is it any good?
I think yes, and no. The game uses the same over the shoulder camera of RE2R and has almost identical gunplay. I just started a new playthrough of RE2R and I'm pretty sure there is almost nothing different about how the guns handle whatsoever. One big criticism I have of the gunplay in RE3R is that it feels very light. Coming off of RE9, the guns in this game feel like airsoft guns most of the time. Shots don't stagger enemies at all and there seems to be no tactical advantage in where you shoot the zombies (other than the head.) Damage models have been toned down from its predecessor for whatever reason, making the zombies feel less like actual non-living breathing beings and more like video game enemies. Sad. The sound design doesn't help, being very flat and boring. No punch to the guns (not even the shotgun or magnum, they just sound and feel flat) and the only sound that I liked was that of Nemesis.

Nemesis is the main antagonist of this game. He's a tyrant sent by Umbrella to kill the last remaining S.T.A.R.S. members in Raccoon City. (This ties into the first game.) Where Nemesis succeeds is in it's visual and sound design and in providing a recurring threat throughout the game, that I was always excited to fight one more time. Sadly, every encounter with Nemesis is scripted so, unlike Mr. X in RE2R, Nemesis won't stalk and hunt you through Raccoon City. This is also mostly because of the limiting level-design and overall linearity of the game, compared to its earlier entries and original. The bossfights themselves were pretty good. Nemesis takes on different forms each time you fight him which makes said fights stand out from one another easily.

The graphics are gorgeous, even before the visual overhaul update that added ray-tracing and more to the graphics options. The character models look great, voice performances (including Neil Newbon btw) are good across the board and I enjoyed playing as and rooting for Jill and Carlos. They have some nice chemistry and dialogue in the few scenes they get.

In closing: To anyone who's interested in a Resident Evil title, pick this up when it's on discount. It's a fun game, albeit a bit short, but it's a good experience all the same. Being the worst of the modern RE games doesn't mean it's bad. It's just not as good as the others. If you want to see if the gameplay is to your liking, you can download the Demo for free and give it a shot. I had lots of fun 100% completing this game and even if you don't want to go for all achievements, you can have many hours of fun with this game.

This is the first David Szymanski game I've ever played. It will probably stay the only one, but that's just a matter of taste. I bought this game simply because I wanted to prepare for Markiplier's movie. (Go watch that by the way, it's seriously good cosmic horror.)

Iron Lung is about you, some dude, piloting a submarine on some blood-moon in space. Why? I don't really know and it doesn't really matter. I probably forgot right after playing.
The story isn't important, it's all about *the feels.*

The atmosphere is great. Your submarine doesn't have windows, so you're stuck looking at a map without markers and your nav-computer - which consists of an arrow, showing you which direction you're facing, and some lights that beep if you come too close to a wall. Your objective is to take pictures of so called "anomalies" down in that sea of blood. So you do. Switching between looking at the map, piloting the sub and running to the back of it to take a sweet shot of whatever's out there. It's really tense.

There's really not much more to say. The art style is good, the ambience carries the tension very well and that's about it. A good, short, tense and scary experience that you can finish in less than 45 minutes and 100% in about the same amount of time.

This game is really fun.

There's honestly not that much to say about it. Gameplay wise it's very straight-forward. You watch the scene, then choose one out of multiple options to proceed, then you either fail or you advance to the next scene. Very simple.

The charm of this game comes in it's simplicity and creativity. Every scene, every character, every environment is fun to interact with. Fails and wins are interesting and most of the time either hilariously illogical or some kind of pop culture or meme reference, very cool.

It took me around 8 hours to 100% complete the game, with all stories, all paths, all easter eggs and all collectibles. 8 hours are a bit much actually, I just saw a review with only 5... maybe I'm just bad at the game. Anyway, it has a ridiculous amount of new and exclusive content added, next to the collection of old Stickmin games that we know and love.

If you liked any of the previous Henry Stickmin games, then this is an absolute recommend.

I just got the last achievements of this game after a 4 year hiatus and now I've decided to review it. Oops.

First off, this game is gorgeous. Absoultely mind-blowing. The lighting effects are great and this is probably the best looking DBZ game yet (maybe even prettier than Sparking Zero, but don't quote me on that.)
So graphically, they did a really good job. Translating the anime style into 3D works really well, maybe because we've seen Dragon Ball in 3D so many times already but whatever. Anyway, it looks really good.

...for the most part.

Everything that isn't combat looks janky as hell. Mouth movements (if there are any) look really bad, animations repeat and repeat and repeat with little to no variation, the text boxes and voice-lines are really bad and feel cheap. Characters will always repeat the same 3 grunts and sentences, which gets old after even just the first hour. There are about 3 tracks of music that you will hear on repeat for the entire game and it will not change. (Unless you change the music in the menu, but you can't change it for the cutscenes or dialogue moments so it's just for certain fights and flying around the map.) All in all this game honestly feels like a cash-grab. You can feel the devs cared for the combat somewhat, but everything else is just mediocre at best and disappointingly bad at worst.

Now for something good. The story moments, as in the actual stuff from the manga and anime, are great. Again, the lighting and graphics look awesome and it really scratches that itch of playing through DBZ's story for the 247th time but it's somehow different now. It makes you feel like Goku/Gohan/Vegeta/Piccolo in the same way that Marvel's Spider-Man makes you feel like Spider-Man.

And there's one thing I've found weirdly fun... the training.
In this game, you have to train. By training I mean you have to do simulated fights over and over again to get materials and XP to level up your skills and transformations. And for some reason I really enjoyed it. I enjoyed repeating the same challenges because every time I repeated them, I actually got stronger. I did so much more damage that I could literally feel the training pay off, and not just in the numbers. It just felt right. It's hard to explain but I distinctly remember the fun I had while training to get strong enough to fight the next big bad in the story.

Transforming is sooo satisfying and a really obvious power difference. You have to manage your Ki when you're transformed and (like in the source material) you can master a form so it drains less Ki while you're transformed.

So the gameplay loop and combat is really rewarding and the story looks and feels good, when stuff is actually happening. Everything else (so all side content like quests, collectibles etc) is boring and repetitive. The first two DLC (Battle of Gods and Resurrection F) are alright, they mostly add some grinding to achieve Super Saiyan God and Super Saiyan Blue and a few story missions so they're inoffensive. The Future Trunks DLC is meh, it has one memorable moment but otherwise is pretty forgetable. There are more DLC, including the 23rd World Tournament, Goku's Next Journey (fighting Uub), a Bardock DLC and two DAIMA DLC (the 2nd part is not out yet) but I haven't played any of them so I can't speak for them.

It's kinda hard for me to really recommend this game but I've had my fun and I'll leave you with the suggestion to wait for a sale if you really want this game with all DLC. The base game for €20 is a really good deal. You can also just try out the Demo and see if you like the gameplay at all.

As someone who played this game to 100% three seperate times, trust me when I say that this is a good game. Or trust the 95% positive reviews on Steam or whatever. Anyways...

This game is good. The combat is good, the story is good, the graphics are good, the controls are good, bla bla bla. Is it an absolute masterpiece of game design? I don't think so, but it doesn't have to be.

It basically takes the gameplay of the Batman Arkham series and adapts it to Spider-Mans more acrobatic style of combat. Enemies attack, show an indicator and you react - it's as basic as that. You get some neat tools to deal with the 7 or 8 different enemy types the game throws at you, like web-bombs that web up enemies in the vicinity, electric webs that stun enemies that come in contact with it, trip-mines for stealth or to take out two enemies at a time, etc. Pretty cool stuff.
There are some enemies that are a bit more challenging than others, but nothing you can't deal with pretty easily.

The traversal around New York City is absolutely amazing. Swinging around town, zipping from rooftop to rooftop never gets old and I've found myself kinda just swinging around at times, taking in the view. It feels very intuitive and easy to get the hang of (pun intended) so from the very first second (right after the game trusts you enough to let you freely swing around, so like maybe after the first five seconds) you feel right at home and swinging to your first objective feels very smooth. The future games sort of improve upon this basis in a few ways, but I'd say the traversal in this game gets a 9/10.

Now for the story. You're Spider-Man doing Spider-Man things, saving New York and fighting criminals, occasionally supporting your Aunt in helping homeless people. Nothing really new here.
The story is pretty basic for the most part, but the writing and acting is absolutely top-notch and super easy-going. Every one of the characters pull their weight and it makes you care about the people you meet. And then there are the MJ stealth missions.
Honestly, I didn't hate them when I played them for the first time. They're pretty easy and they can sometimes pull you out of the story a tiny bit if you really want to continue as Spider-Man, but they're for the most part inoffensive. On replaying them however, I really got annoyed and tried to run through as fast as I could. (Which was pretty easy, all things considered. These sections will take you between 5-10 minutes, depending on how fast you really wanna be.) So all in all, the story is very well executed, pulls on your heartstrings and leaves you emotional.

If you want to 100% the game, you'll need to play through it twice. Once to unlock NG+ and the hardest difficulty, and then once to get the achievements for each. You also have to finish the three DLC, which I'll get to next. There are many things to collect and do in NYC. Sometimes it can get a bit tedious, as you have to wait for random events to appear, but the swinging makes waiting a bit less annoying, so it's not that bad.

Now for the DLC. The City That Never Sleeps is a story in three parts, that each focus on different characters in an overarching storyline. These stories are pretty solid for the most part, but they can get boring at times. The pacing here is not comparable to the main game. I'd give Part 1 7/10, Part 2 5/10 and Part 3 6/10. The gameplay stays exactly the same, except for some new enemy variations. Nothing great, but nothing overly bad either. It's a mixed bag. The writing is probably the best part about it.

So in conclusion, if you wanna feel like Spider-Man, this game is a no-brainer and absolutely worth the money. The gameplay is simple, yet it stays fun throughout the entire game with new challenges thrown your way frequently. The story is emotional and interesting, if a little basic at times. The graphics look beautiful, especially all the different suits you can unlock (each come with a different suit power that are useful in various scenarios, I forgot to add.)

Get this game, it's really good.

So... where to start.

This review is dedicated to the singleplayer campaign only. I can't speak for the multiplayer part of the game, but I doubt it'll be very different from what I've experienced in SP.

All in all, this is one of the worst CoD campaigns I have ever played.
The levels vary in length that you sometimes get whiplash. You finish a mission that took roughly 30 minutes, only to then play a mission that is over in not much more than 5.

The story is boring, generic and predictable. None of the characters are even remotely likable except the damn dog (because he's a dog) and the main villain is so laughingly stupid that it just makes you angry.

The shooting is excusable, it feels pretty good. Nothing particularly ground-breaking but not worse than previous CoDs either. The problem is that if you're not shooting stuff, you have to watch a "story" happen in front of you, while your character does not take part in anything. You regularly get pushed around because you are NOT THE MAIN CHARACTER and you're supposed to walk behind everyone. NPCs routinely have conversations that feel like you're just the camera guy.

I played the campaign on Veteran difficulty to get the achievements, but it was a horrible experience. Enemies almost always kill you in two (or three, if you're lucky) hits and thanks to bloody screen you have to wait behind cover for at least 10 seconds before you can peek around the corner to return fire. Adding to the frustration is the color scheme of this game being grey and brown, with enemies blending into the background like damn chameleons. Maybe this is a skill-issue, but I highly doubt it. I've played MW2019 on Realistic difficulty and this does not compare at all.

Do not buy this, whatever the cost. There are much better games and much better CoDs to play.

If you like first person shooters, you'll probably like RoboCop: Rogue City.

...at least the shooting part of it.

This game consists of about 40% shooting, 40% very slowly walking around a half-empty map and 20% talking to people with very uninteresting dialogue that I found myself skipping through most of the time (because reading the subtitles is quicker and more enjoyable than waiting for the characters to finish talking.)

The graphics are really good. Lighting and reflections make the city and precinct look very nice, if you like dirty suburbs. As I understand it there are some maps that are basically taken 1:1 from the movies, but I could be wrong there. (I haven't seen a single one of them) Apropos, there are lots of references and nods to the movies as well. Some describe this game as a love letter to the fandom.

The guns feel punchy and weighty and throwing stuff and enemies around is by far the most fun part of this game. I found myself longing for the next combat section whenever the last one ended. There is a skill tree that has somewhat interesting upgrades and skills to unlock, and you can upgrade your pistol with various chips, that allow for some customization and differences in preferred playstyle. For example you can equip a slot that disables headshots for your pistol, but in exchange it has exploding bullets, etc.

If you're looking for a short game with good shooting mechanics, get this. Especially now that it's 90% off. For 40 bucks, I would not recommend it, as it took me just under fourteen hours to 100% the game.
