been looking forward to buying this on steam to replay the campaign (that i completed on PlayStation 5), and i found out that there is hackers ratting people's pc's the first thing they boot up into the menu or multiplayer menu itself i don't really go on multiplayer (aside from zombies) that much since i'm more focused onto the campaign portions in every cod game, so i'm here to ask, is it safe to play campaign or do i need alterware for it as well?...

never got to experience this game in its prime, but it always looked interesting to me, 20 bucks seems interesting, but if its dead i dont really want to waste my money

Crashing at start up and a message pops up next time I try to launch the game asking to start in safe mode, which also crashes. Currently re-downloading the game onto my C-drive (couldnt just move it over for some reason) as I heard this could be the issue but if that doesnt fix it does anyone have any clue whats wrong? Saw this game on sale and considered picking it up to play Extinction with 3 friends. Will the game crash, lose connection, etc. if trying to play in private lobbies? I also saw some posts mention Alterware or whatever would that make the game specifically for Private lobbies Extinction safe/work fine?...

Just saw a review posted March 8 2026 about Extinction servers being silently shut down. Was wondering if this is true?
