My absolute favourite MMO, it doesn't require a subscription, and has horizontal progression systems so your gear never really gets outdated (especially if you go for legendary gear), so I feel like the game never punishes me for taking a break from it, which in turn makes me feel like I'm playing it for fun, not because of sunk cost fallacy. I find the narrative gets compelling if you can make it past the first 6 or so chapters of the base story, once it really starts getting into the Elder Dragon stuff. The core gameplay I find more enjoyable than other MMOs as well, as it's a bit more action oriented with less total skills to worry about at once, and more mechanics like dodging. Highly recommend if you're after a game to sink a bunch of time into.

Great game if you like puzzle solving, mystery, good characters, and a little bit of action sprinkled in to keep the pace.
As someone who was inspired by playing Hades to learn a bit more about Greek myths about the gods, conversing with Romans who believe in similar gods and would reference some of these myths was good fun, and the mystery and plot was great for keeping me enticed and immersed. The plot is well written enough that you can figure it out before the game spells it out for you (but not see it coming hours ahead), which is a mark of good mystery writing imo. Characters all had unique traits, and while some were more prominent than others, it was easy to find some favourites and ones to despise.
I clocked in at about 8-10 hours for my first playthrough, which is a nice tight timeframe that doesn't overstay its welcome.
Highly recommend this game, one of the best of 2021.

Played in beta after getting a key for backing the sequel, it was a great addition to the main game! The new puzzles were different from the main game but still similar enough to give the same challenge and fun as the main game did. If you enjoyed the main game, you'll definitely enjoy this dlc.

Incredibly fun Metroidvania, well worth full price.
