As soon as I saw the trailer for the game I shut my ears to all news about the game so that it wouldn't get me upset or make me not want to get the game. From what I did hear, they were going to make the following changes to the linear game and story of the franchise:
Pros: Open World, you can take parts off guns to modify and keep what you wanted for parts,
Cons: The middle city region would be PVP and more like a BR.

I was happy as the only con in my eyes was the PVP. Instead we got FISHING, Grappling, Callback quests, a better story than 3, memes, many more guns as every gun has various parts from old manufactures like Hyperion and the COV, less load doors and best of all a faster way to farm bosses. The only downside is you are not able to rip parts off guns but that doesn't matter as every gun is unique and you might just get lost in the side quests and forget that you have to take down the main villan.

From what I have played of this game, it takes the setting of Kingdoms Rush and throws in the story and what I can only assume to be the origins of the conflict on the Tower Defense games.
it has Turn Based Strategy, branching paths for chances at random encounters and a good amount of RNG.

Exterminate. Exterminate. I. MUST. EXTERMINATE. THE. INFESTATION.
While I am afraid of spiders and know this is just a game, The jumping and unnatural movement of these foul beasts make my skin crawl. Thankfully with all the tools at my disposal I fear no challenge with enough time I will build a rube Goldberg machine just to deal with the threat.

Mmmm Monkey

A nice game adaptation of a Lego Movie. While there is no real levels, the more you explore the areas the more that you open up shortcuts and secrets. The Ninjanuity tokens were a neat idea but were annoying because its a long cut-scene and you obtain them all just for doing the story.
On the plus side currency is not a problem because the only things that cost studs are creation quests and they don't even cost that much. Additionally I believe that this game also shines with the 4 player area mini-game. The customizer is well designed and I always love the ability to mix character elements.

My only real issues are from technical things like crashing, characters clipping, and video stutters.

TLDR: small game, had fun, had laughs, wish they kept more of the jokes in, shows characters from the TV show.

This cured me of my arachnophobia, but in return gave me a fear of giant spiders and one day there may be spiders larger than me. Also I like setting things on fire now.

Get this game and the Season Pass on sale. The game is good but the DLC not so much. It adds subpar content but nothing too elaborate. It got some laughs from me while I was playing but not as much as nonverbal comedy does. Sadly I play Lego games in a way that makes it less fun and more about completing the game before anyone tells me to be quiet or that it is time to do something else.

Honestly despite some god awful issues (clipping through the floor, issues with mission and issues with the code pointing to the wrong objective/result) this game is in the same category as its original counterpart.
Is it funny: Yes.
Did the devs put in memes: ABSOLUTELY.
Is there sand: Yes but I do not like it.

EDIT: Is DLC required? no, currently all of the DLC is simply character packs that add lifeless characters with no voices or interactions with other characters. When I found out about the second set I was skeptical and then once I found out I would need to buy another whole bundle I was hurt. I was one of the many who bought the preorder and looking back I was a fool. Sure I would be spoiled by watching others play and post content, but at least I would have the opportunity to save money.
BUT HEY, I'm just a man who played this alone and sped through the game in almost 80 hours in a couple of sittings and then almost beat it again in about the same time because my first game was hit with a glitch around 90%. However, I have seen many have a blast with their children, friends, family and even seen people enjoy the game despite not know a single thing about the franchise.

Honestly this game is great.
Pros include but are not limited to: New Weapons, New Mechanics, Return of Awesome Music, Training Area to Test Weapons and Free to Play
Cons: Sweatlords, micro-transactions and Battle Passes.
BUT COME ON, the Pros weigh out the cons by so much. you can even train with bots and set the difficulty of the bots so you can feel like they are real. THIS IS HALO. SPARTANS NEVER DIE.

I loved all the other games and when I found out this game was coming out I was hyped. sadly at the time it was only being released on another site but once it got here I bought it. It is an improvement with a bazillion new guns and how they function is amazing. Then, DLC came out and I was hooked even more. I just wish I had more time tom play since after buying it another game i love also came out a month later. But still i love it. 100% better with friends or others. Let the carnage begin.
