1000 different mechanics to learn, and once you learn them that's it. There's little depth to them, just endless new shiny things to learn. While some systems in the game (like the economics) are extremely good, others are painful (like the war or politics). Overall the game just misses the mark way too often and the UI is terrible to top it off. And this is after a year of fixes. This is a very wide game with very shallow mechanics.

This is a very cute Pokemon Snap clone, with some improvements over Snap as well. It's short, only 2 hours, but It looks nice and plays nice. Sometimes it's a bit finnicky, but I never felt frustrated with it. If you wanted to collect everything it probably goes as long as 4 or 5 hours.

The atmosphere and little bit of writing there is were all nice. Try it if you like Pokemon Snap or want a game that's different. I don't really know how it took 20 years for a Pokemon Snap clone to come out, but I'm glad one did.

I haven't played a lot on steam (since I have it on switch). It's a fun game. It's interesting to see a new take on match 3 games. There used to be a lot of puzzle games, but now there's hardly any besides Puyo Pop. This is a true example of indie games filling a niche that publishers have stopped caring about. The art is cute, the gameplay is nice, some of the devs have been pushing it on twitter for a while and they're also nice from what I've seen.

Give it a tryyyy. Also dark skinned character with purple hair, very choice aesthetic. Centaur's cute too though.

This is a true horror game. On the survivor side, it's one of the scariest and most intense games I've ever played. It's full of moments that make you laugh and make you panic, it's very tense and exciting. It's true to the horror movie experience in a way nothing else is. In a way, the game is at its most fun when you don't know exactly what you're doing. The Survivor portion functions both as one of the best stealth experiences, and one of the best running experiences in a modern game. It's like playing Metal Gear Solid on hard but the guard is a real person. But if you prefer to run, chase, and take action, that's also 100% viable.

On the killer side of things, it's also incredibly fun. I love stalking people, hunting them down, scaring them, chasing them around. It's really unique in that there's not explicitly a winning objective, though killing as many survivors as possible is encouraged. Each killer has a unique way of doing things, and unique feel to them in both design and skills.

The lore of the game is great, the killers are interesting, the cosmetics are fun. Robbie Legion (Susie) and Harajuku Nea are my favorites. If you love horror, this is probably one of the best modern horror games there are. Queue are usually speedy at almost all hours, you can play with friends on console, the game is regularly updated.

The Neutral is that this game has a lot of DLC. They are by no means necessary, I have several friends who are high rank killers without having a lot of the meta characters and perks. That being said, on sale this game is pretty cheap. 8 dollars for the base game which is totally playable can easily net you 50-100 hours. DLC isn't expensive and regularly goes on sale for 6 bucks. I've spent maybe 70 dollars total on this game, and gotten over 200 hours out of it. That's more than worth the cost when I'm not even close to done playing.

The game is very skill based, however it's not a very hardcore game at the same time. It's most fun when you aren't playing ultra meta. Due to the way skills work in this game being completely swapable, memorizing what a survivor does is pointless, and memorizing what a killer does is not as useful as having a brain. That removes a large competitive element from the game. If you're looking for your next e-sport, look elsewhere. The strongest hardcore element of this game is the amount of strategy and mindgames that go into things, and being able to predict other people.

The main negative about this game is the community. They are whiny babies, who scream and throw tantrums. It's not so bad now since crossplay people can't chat in game, but certain types have an earned reputation for being very sore losers. This game makes you really feel things, so it's understandable some people would take it too seriously. At the same time, the community is also great fun to interact with, so it's definitely worth dealing with the negative for the fun experiences. If you really want, you don't even have to talk to them post game if you want.

TL;DR this game is a true horror game with a lot of unique stuff going for it. If you love horror, and the idea of chase/be chased, hunt/be hunted, then this easily justifies the meager 8 bucks the game goes on sale for regularly. The game is constantly under development with free updates as well, including a graphics overhaul that's currently in progress and looks great so far. There's a lot of cute additions like survivors looking over their shoulder when they turn the camera behind them, and things that really add to the feel of a chase.

I got this for 5 bucks in the racial equality bundle (it's a separate thing from the bundle, but if you buy the bundle through the game's webpage you get the game for cheaper). It's normally not much anyways. I'd say it's more than worth that. It's cute, it's funny, it has some light base building and exploring. It's not exactly complex, but it's interesting. I'll probably play it a few more times when I feel like chilling.

My main complaints are that you experience a fair bit of down time. It could use a speedup button like Rimworld, or a bed like Minecraft.

I love RE4, it's one of my favorite games. This version if just, terrible. At 8 hours I definitely got the 5 dollars worth, but I do wish an hour of that wasn't repeatedly doing the same segment because the game is glitchy.

Some of the QTE are apparently not retimed for the fact this game runs at 60fps (double the frame rate of the original version). The end result is you redo the decent length sequence several times until you figure it out. Allegedly if you mash really hard it'll work but I rigged up a turbo button to try to get past it and that didn't do anything. I'm pretty certain this ONE QTE (the Minecart segment where you pull yourself up) doesn't work correctly for some reason.

I was told to put the game at 30fps, which I did, which puts you about ten minutes back. So I went through replaying with the game seeming to run worse at 30fps. So I alt tabbed to check a message and as a result the game crashed, which is sadly also not the first time the game has crashed on me. This is not the ideal way to play RE4. I don't know what is, but this sure isn't. If you look over reviews and read the forums you can see countless people say the same.

This is not an inherently negative review, I just really would not recommend this 'game' to anyone else.

I get enjoyment from this title because I adore using the character maker to make a variety of different things, then the studio included in the modded version to do various pictures. This is a process that takes HOURS. There is a main campaign but like... Vanilla sex trash that's weird. You can just freely go eff your creations, which is amusing but overall not that amazing.

The Pros:
-The character creator is very detailed. If you learn it, you can make a variety of dramatically different looking character and even copy a variety of art styles. You can make some very unique looking characters, or recreate many anime and manga characters almost perfectly.
-You are not limited to sexual uses with this. If you have fun being creative, then you will have fun. Lewd or otherwise. A lot of people are using this to get off though, to be honest.
-Very easy to mod. Sincerely, easier than modding a Bethesda game. Borderline installing a patch and some drag and drop. To top it off, important other people's creations is drag and drop. A very quality system.

Cons:
-Game doesn't work very well. Sometimes it randomly doesn't start and you have to close it and restart it.
-Kind of laggy when loading new options. Visual glitches seem inherent to the process of running the game period.
-Sometimes accessories don't work right, don't load properly, don't stick to where they're intended, don't attach to the right places, don't follow your character when they move.
-The variety of clothes is very large, but also very samey. Even with the default patch that adds a lot of clothes from specific stuff, the clothing range is kind of pedestrian, with many outfits just being copies with minor changes.
-The variety of scenes available is also very low.
-The game is very tedious to use. I would love to use my mouse and reshape some parts of the body to be frank. The controls are an abomination all around. The game is very obtuse about virtually everything, and is in borderline Engrish at moments. Words cannot describe how painful the process of actually posing something is, often resulting in ridiculous errors in the character models. Joint adjustment helps a little, but not always. At times it's hard to even select the part of something you want due to overlap, god help you if you're trying to move a finger, or a hand over another model's joint that you need to be able to see both models during.
-The range of characters you can make is VERY broad, but also very limited. Making an old person, or a very young person is tedious and won't look very well. I also find the boobs look like balloons almost no matter what you do. There's almost no way to make a very large breasted character look as good as a slender one. I find this terribly weird in a porn game. Making chubbier characters is also somewhat difficult, so you'll never get a proper MILF look.
-Could really use more scenes.

I do have worlds of fun with it, but be prepared for tediousness and fighting it EVERY. STEP. OF. THE. WAY. To do ANYTHING. 90% of the advice you'll receive on google is to verify the game's integrity, reinstall the HF patch, and join the Discord. I'm not in the Discord currently, so I can't tell you how friendly they are or aren't. However when I spend literally 10 hours learning the ins and outs of this game I'm playing for self gratification (take that as you will) I'm maybe not interested in spending several hours learning the culture and rules of a discord group I may or may not get along with. Google will not help you here.

So truly, no, you should not buy this. You basically NEED the patch as well, so modding this is an absolute necessity due to Steam's rules for release. However if in spite of all of that you think you can have fun, go ahead. There needed to be some non meme reviews here though.

I don't usually like G Gen games, but this one is pretty fun. It's grindy, but the grind mainly goes towards accomplishing things I would like to accomplish and the ability to replay missions to work towards things means I'm not just beating the game and then getting things to replay the game. Lesser units are still somewhat viable for more than a half hour. (More than 16 hours). Which is good if you like grunt suits or lower tier Gundams.

The downsides are that it can be taxing on systems for some reason, and that it has no respect for your time at all. Even with skipping animations, a lot of the battle readout is superfluously showing explosions, number calculations, and everything has to happen in its own time. It gets old seeing your unit go in and out of tension a dozen times, or watching each special status add to the score for a unit kill when you're about to repeat it 20 more times in the same turn.

The game also has some glitches. It CTD'd on me twice, though the game is very good about auto saving. At one point the menu for passing a turn appeared while I was in mission prep, but I managed to make it go away easily enough. Better than your typical Bandai PC trash.

Would suggest playing it if you like tactical RPGs and Gundam. As for value for money. I'm personally at 16 hours and haven't even beaten stage one of every mode. I will say SEED probably gets the most representation story wise, but there's a lot of 00, IBO, and Wing there too.

I backed the game, and I had high hopes for it. I don't want to write a bad review for this game, but there are a few reasons I really should, including a lot of friends that I hyped this to who keep asking me about it.

I think it's appropriate to write a review because the devs do not treat me like an investor, they treat me like a customer. I do not know why they went to Early Access, I don't know why they made the design decisions they did, I don't know why they do anything, I don't know what they used the money for, I don't know what happened to put the game in this state where it's barely improved since the alpha. Since I'm purely a customer (albeit one who's money they already have), I can only really react like a customer. Someone who bought the game and is displeased with it.

The devs themselves are very bad with communication. Their communication typically comes in the form of PR styled statements, spread across various areas. They tend not to answer questions very well, (possibly due to English not being their first language and the volume of questions). Still, I don’t think that excuses not being more open and clear. Whatever though, they have our money. A surprise EA release? Why not. Like, you could have explained to people ahead of time who backed your game and gave you a lot of trust that you were going to do it, and then maybe less people would be caught off guard when it happens. Often times you had to find developer answers to questions through other people in the comments of the kickstarter page.

The game itself is inspired partly by two of my favorite games ever: Rune Factory 4, and Digimon World. To me, I ask myself “Ddoes the game measure up to those?” and “Is it a good game regardless?” No to both.

The Digimon Inspiration seems to come primarily in the form of an overhaul of Rune Factory 4’s pet system. That’s not too bad. It puts this game squarely in the RF with borrowed Digimon mechanics than say, a hybrid of the two though. I personally would have loved an expanded, enhanced Digimon World with a more in depth social system.

The core issues really come in the fact that this game is a lesser version of Rune Factory. If people want to play a lesser version of Rune Factory, they’re free to play Stardew Valley on almost anything at this point.

In regards to Rune Factory the reason you played it, much like Harvest Moon, was not just to farm and not just to fight. Both of those were things that made the game interesting though! The true gem of RF4 is the social system. The NPCs had their own personalities and their own daily routines. They didn’t just stand static at their shop, or their house. They went out to lunch with friends, chatted with the other towns folk along the way, had places they liked to visit. Their patterns were predictable, but not set in stone. Many things such as days of the week, story events, and NPC events would alter the behavior to make it more lively. There are well over 100 NPC events in Rune Factory 4 that further flesh out the characters and their lives and give the game something to break up the monotony.

Further more you can always find them. The map in Rune Factory 4 is great. You know where every NPC is at all times, and can talk to them. You can become friends with them, you can give them gifts, and you can bring them adventuring with you. It’s great.

Don’t go expecting any of that here. The NPCs are paper thin. At best they walk to a spot and stand there, ala Stardew Valley or Graveyard Keeper. All in all it lacks the livliness and interest that RF4 generates, which has made every game for me feel lesser since. The NPC variety is also not great. There’s not many of them, and they aren’t very interesting designs.

Much like in Digimon World and Rune Factory 4, the map is broken up into smaller zones. However, in those games there’s a reason the town is taking up 3 zones and it’s because they’re lesser hardware that need it. There’s no reason for it here. Not only are things split up into incredibly small areas, the use of space is abysmal. It’s annoying to get where you want, even in town. This is something I’m not sure how they’re going to improve, because they’ll have to literally remake the town and then every area outside of the town. Some people have said it’s akin to playing a mobile game and it really is. It would be one thing if things were at least laid out well and easy to get to, but no; the buildings are all over and spaced poorly.

The map is also bad. It doesn’t give enough information, to be honest. And there’s no interaction with it. It would be nice to be able to click on quest markers, or buildings, or something. I can’t even seem to make it enlarge to zones, but it wouldn’t be a shock if a button didn’t work right. You monsters sometimes outright can’t be dismounted without entering a building because the dismount key just stops working.

Rune Factory 4 almost embodied quality of life improvements in a stale genre. Compared to Stardew Valley which seems to have been made by someone who played Harvest Moon on the SNES, switched to PC and then remembered decades later and built a game off of that memory. In Rune Factory 4 you can teleport, free of charge, with the press of a button. It allows you to move to key points, and even back home in a few button presses. It does not devalue the game at all, it simply cuts out a lot of unnecessary walking. An important aspect in a game where you’re punished for staying up too late, and where there doesn’t even feel like there’s enough time in the day to walk to where you need to go and back let alone manage your farm on top of that.

The game is optimized like garbage. I read a thread where it killed someone’s GPU (which admittedly was probably a weak GPU). This game takes unreasonable amounts of power to run though. Games with higher levels of texturing, effects, bigger maps, and more things going on them take less to run on high settings. I can hear my computer working running this game in a way I can’t with Dying Light or Monster Hunter World. Framerate drops abound on top of that.

There’s minigames strewn everywhere too that aren’t fun and don’t add to the experience. It adds the element of Fantasy Life that I absolutely hated. I fear they won’t remove these awful things from the game, which will make me never want to craft or tame a monster ever again. Like they literally don’t do anything and aren’t important-- Especially the Taming which has no penalty for failing anyways.

There’s a lot more I could go on about but I'm guessing I'm already close to the character limit. There are positive about this game such as the cute art style, and.. The promise of a better game I guess. They are updating the game almost every day... With bug fixes... So many bug fixes. At this point you'd have a less buggy experience playing an unmodded Bethesda game. But hey, it's Early Access.. Not that they asked the backers if they wanted a rushed release that would tank the game's reputation.

At the moment, straight up, the game borders on unplayable. My fear is that even when it becomes properly playable it's just going to be inferior to the games that inspired it.

As an after thought too: A lot of things aren't even in the game yet. So to say the road ahead is long is an understatement. This is not a game that's going to be fixed and great tomorrow, or next month. It's not unfinished in the way 'broken buggy games' are. It's unfinished in the way that it's literally not done yet.

Edit: I want to update this review to add that the game is effectively abandoned.

It was very hard for me to find decent info about this game to really understand it without playing it. I hope this review gives someone appropriate information rather they like the game or not.

You do almost all of the major control in the game by raising and lowering portions of the map. This raises and lowers the temperature of the world you're working on, which is basically the thing you most need to watch early on. You can also use items to speed things up (this is not encouraged), or to decorate. When you lower the land, you make water.

This would not be so bad except that the UI is terrible. If you've ever complained about a game's UI or controls before, this will make you reconsider it. Believe me, I hate some UIs. The game feels absolutely horrible to control or do anything regardless of rather you use a keyboard and mouse, or a controller. I can't put into words how clunky and sluggish things are. It is both way too easy to change the land, and way too hard to do it with precision. This system probably would have worked better if the cube were divided into blocks you could raise and lower.

You are required to keep an insane amount of knowledge in your head, or to repeatedly crawl through menus looking it up. Overall, the game is just really obtuse about what it wants and when. There are a lot of ways to interpret things, and it kind of assumes you just know things. It just kind of assumes you realize changes will only take effect when you go into macro mode and start time. Yet in spite of telling you almost nothing you're going to want to know, the first several stages are a pure infodump of hard to remember things, with no log. If you missed what a control does, you'll probably have to look it up yourself on google.

This is an intensely frustrating game to play. The controls are frustrating, the objectives are frustrating, attempting to play it is frustrating. Maybe if you can move past all of that it becomes fun.

I don't know why it says 1 hour. I have a habit of closing Steam, so that may be why. It's more like 3~ hours.
