As polarizing as the game is in the Battlefield community, this is leaps above the recent Battlefield releases, and is easily the best since BF1. Has some problems with the amount content (maps), but I expect that to get ironed out in the upcoming seasons.

If I could give a mixed review, I would. I think the "open-world" was a mistake; it more often than not feels glaringly empty, and the Far-Cry-esque base capture system is just boring and uninspired. If they simply stuck to the separated areas like in the previous games, I think the game would've been much better for it. Furthermore, the lack of endgame content is glaring, with very little in the way to test the player, with Wildcard Missions and Big Encore Bosses not exactly filling the void. However, Bloomreaper as done SOME to remedy that. All in all, this is a worthy entry in the franchise and has it's own charm that I enjoy. I look forward to the release of the first DLC pack, I think it's always where Gearbox does some of their best work and I will return when it comes out.

Magnum opus

Has easily become one of my favourite games of all-time and I still have yet to put it down. Phenomenal narrative and characters, exceptional world & sound design, and enemies that are interesting and challenging. The amount of options you have for how you'd like to play provides so many different avenues of approaching the game. Can not recommend this game enough, easily one of the greatest Role-Playing Games.
