All in all, a pretty fun mix between the holdout style gameplay of TAB and classic RTS games - Playing with a friend felt like an old Warcraft 3 custom. Would love to see more content in the future.

EDIT: Back to update my review now that we're about a month removed from the game's launch - What's happened since then? Almost nothing. Some small balancing changes from the devs, and an official date for the start of the game's first season.

The silence on all of the game's negative press and backlash from Rocksteady has been deafening. Maybe it's pressure from WB, but all in all, I can't leave my review in the positive anymore. Even when it's on sale in a year's time, I'm not certain that the backlog of content would be enough to bring me back to this.

In short - There's games on the market right now with MUCH BETTER community support that satisfy almost the same itch for a coop shooty-bang-bang experience with friends.

Below is my original review, although I no longer hold this opinion on the game...
Is it worth the $105AUD I paid for the Standard Edition on launch? Not really.

Will it be worth it in 3 months time when it probably goes 10-20% on sale to kick off a second Season? Maaaybe?

Will it be worth it in a year when the game has dropped down to like $40-50AUD? Probably.

It's honestly going to come down to what Rocksteady/WB charge for the post-launch content, and whether or not the content is different enough from the base game to warrant putting in more hours than the initial story.

Gameplay is fast-paced and fun at the best of times, traversal feels fun but can get a bit tedious, and at the worst of times engagements can feel a little repetitive - Not much worse than your average looter-shooter, and I imagine there'll be some more variety as they roll out new seasons.

Overall the story is alright, the comedy has it's moments, and I imagine a lot of people wouldn't be trashing the game so hard if it's links to the Arkham series weren't so concrete.

At the end of the day, the name of the game is literally "Kill the Justice League", and if you really can't get behind the idea of a bunch of de-powered wackos with guns killing Supes, then it's probably not for you.

TL;DR: An unexpectedly fun spin on the BR genre. Fast-paced matches and interesting, quirky characters make for a fun time. Menus and balancing could've used a bit more QA time, but for a free game it's totally worth your time.

Went in expecting a funny meme game to laugh at with some friends, came out with a genuinely fun experience. There's absolutely some balancing issues, but regardless I've not played any character so far that wasn't at least mechanically interesting or fun in some way.

Unlocking new characters is a little bit rough, either locked behind a steep grind, or behind some gacha rolls, BUT, you also get given 3 tokens each day that can be used to play a round as any locked characters. I think this oughta be bumped up to 5 since unlucky players can get bullied out of a round pretty quickly and lose their tickets pretty quick, but for the most part it's not as predatory as people seem to make out here. At the end of the day it's a free game, the devs gotta make their money back somewhere.

I can see this lasting if it gets consistent content updates and maybe another map or two down the line.

I rarely post Steam reviews, but I was quite excited for BB3 and have since refunded it due to the sheer volume of issues plaguing the launch of the game.

Matches soft-locking when someone passes the ball into an intercept zone, server issues, skills not working, Brutal Edition cosmetics being granted to all players, the cash shop... The list goes on.

The game in its current state screams "Early Access", and my guess is that publishers pushed live service BS and money-making as a priority over actual functionality. I truly hope we see improvements in the near future, and I'll gladly revisit the game and this review if significant changes are made.

We don't need battle passes in every damn game, especially not tabletop fantasy football for crying out loud.

I've played Halo ever since I was a kid and first got an Xbox. Through all the games, Reach was my absolute favorite. Plenty of variety across different gamemodes, as well as some really creative custom games and maps from the community. Now that it's out for PC, I absolutely recommend MCC to anyone, returning or brand new to the Halo Universe.

Also, Steam kept asking me to review the game, so here you go.

Fun game, mods can change the game up massively and bring about entirely new playstyles, content, and mechanics.
As far as 2D sandbox games go, it's absolutely worth a buy!

It's fun, mods have kinda given it a second life for me (particularly the Multiverse mod), definitely one of the all-time greats
