Great story, solid action, amazing sound effects and music.

If like me you are likely to mostly play solo unlikely to go into the multiplayer, perhaps wait until the price drops a little, but I don't feel hard done by as I was blown away by the story, visuals and voice acting.

Sony have backtracked. New major order - reverse the negative reviews!

Recommended, great fun especially with friends.

Good idea but flawed and lazy execution.

I have 100% completed this game, I won't deny it the final 100 hours were far from pleasant and the 260 prior to that were highly mixed. I can't recommend just now because of the cost, the incredible opportunity missed to make something special and the terrible implementation of core gameplay mechanics, much of which I simply won't go into here.

TL;DR there are very few times when I had the genuine immersive experience I am use to in Bethesda games, this falls far, far below the usual bar (if we ignore FO76) that we are use to.

Simply could not get this to run properly despite any other game I wanted being fine. No amount of fixes seemed to work. FPS would be all over the place the instant I got on the bike.

It's basically Minecraft:

1. Spend hours Mining - Check.
2. Spend hours building - Check.
3. Spend hours fighting off randomly spawning poor AI mobs - Check.
4. Spend hours exploring a randomly generated map - Check.
5. Spend hours chopping down trees - Check.
and so many more similarities..

and I love it because it's like Minecraft for grown ups.

100 hours in on steam but way more than that on the "other platform" this was released on.

Anyway - recommended if you like exploration, base building, puzzle solving or just chilling out. It's a very rewarding game and fulfilled my desire for "3D factorio".

Very stable, a few very minor non-game breaking bugs still in early access - but by far one of the best early access games I've played. Get it, try it .

Super early access but has the building blocks to be a super game to play with your kids or when drunk with friends.

It may be a little pointless, it may take up a huge amount of your time but the game is fantastic.

Early access so I wouldn't recommend buying it just yet - see how development goes longer term however I am really enjoying it. Yes it needs more content but the basics are all in there, the crafting systems is nice, simple and effective and oddly I quite enjoy the limited inventory, adds a little more thought to what you take with you until you have a vehicle.

Totally thumbs up for me, if you're a fan of exploration sandbox type games you'll likely enjoy this, but there's no AI, no wandering mobs etc so danger is fairly limited, that's one element along with base building I'd love to see expanded.

First person option would also be great, not that I see that coming :0)

Promising little game, runs brilliantly and is very well designed!

I love ARK, it's a great game but I also backed it as an early access game, expecting them to use the funds to complete it. The devs seem to have taken this as a big beefy cash cow waiting to be milked and with the first paid for DLC being released, which presently costs MORE than the game (it's on sale at £13, DLC costs £15!) I'm struggling to see this as anything other than a really poorly thought out fundraising tactic.

So to sum up:

1. It runs like crap.
2. It's not complete.
3. It's still missing game elements.

Yet they're milking this cow as fast as they can, this doesn't inspire confidence. I've essentially helped paid for this DLC to be made, only for them to want me to throw more money their way. Buy this and you set a precident for all early access game devs to milk you dry, personally I'm done with it.
