How come I never reviewed the remake?!
I've finished it on PLAYISM "waaay before it was cool", er, I mean, before the Steam release, and it was enough for me to become a Kickstarter backer for the sequel. It's that good. I am still working on getting all the achievements here... Got caught by surprise with the sequels' release!

The game is almost unfair in it's riddles, but there are PLENTY of riddles to take note of and write down on paper... or just take a look at the guides as today the game is well known enough to be accessible with support from the community!

The gameplay is oldschool but feels pretty fluid: the jumps and attacks become natural after a while. It just works.

As this game is somewhat old, you can run it with overlay shenanigans / SFX quite well - I run some plugins to give it a tube TV feel plus vignette, and it looks awesome!

Overall, I really recommend this game to any platformer gamer that likes hard stuff and 2D Castlevania / Metroid style item progression and maps. A joy to play blindly, with a guide or while watching a Let's Play! (take a look at Deceased Crab's, he helped a ton to bring the remake into life with his playthrough of the original freeware, fan-translated version!)
