One of my favorite stories ever. The ambiance is also top notch... I have never enjoyed walking into forests at night with overwhelming darkness that engulfs you from every direction. It was a very ambitious title for Remedy Entertainment studio and is a product of careful direction and fine tuning of every component that makes this game so great. Since 2010, it has aged beautifully and still holds up very well and if you love the story you will also like how they tied it to the "Remedy-verse" along with the release of Alan Wake 2 coming next year.

The concept of light versus dark is amazing! The gameplay delivers a survival action experience. Although if you have played CONTROL, you would know how they improved the gameplay and traversal even further.

The game is filled to the brim with collectible items one of which being the 'manuscripts' that are scattered around the world offering extra pieces of narrated lore that adds so much more to the well paced story and fits perfectly with the theme of the game.

Alan Wake is a genre defining game from a passionate development studio.
P.S. Sam Lake is a genius!

It's fantastic! What a tribute to all the music, anime, movies and video-games! You'll just feel it! It oozes the perfect blend of rhythm and hack 'n' slash games. The visuals, the music and the gameplay remind me of classics like Trigun, FLCL, Bleach, Soul Eater, Code Geass (smw) Sunset Overdrive, Jet Set Radio, Spider-Man (Animated Series 2003), Spider-Man: Into+Across the Spider-Verse, May Who?, Prince of Persia (2008), Devil May Cry games (Capcom+Ninja Theory), NieR:Automata, Thumper, Rock Band and Guitar Hero games...

I've had my eyes on this one since release, I saw Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse yesterday, got my mind blown and I just knew I had to get this game today I am friggin' lovin' it!

P.S. It's literally the perfect birthday week!
