This game isn't just a game, it's a journey. A long journey, fraught with trial and tribulation. Frustration and doubt. Triumph. Moments of quiet solitude.
It affected me.

It's not for everyone, and all play styles are valid.
But I'll warn you, to truly PLAY this game, you'll have to let go of the notion that death is bad.
Failure is nothing more than an opportunity to try again. To learn from your mistakes. Mistakes will happen. Sometimes it's fair, and sometimes it's not, but that's life.

Again, it's not for everyone, but I don't regret a minute spent on this game (except maybe the valiant gargoyles, I'm not alone in that).

I'm sure I don't need to tell you this game is absolutely gorgeous. The music phenomenal. The designs often wildly creative and awe-inspiring.
I don't need to tell you that it manages to be one of the best open worlds despite being Fromsofts very first.
And I certainly don't need to tell existing fans of Fromsoft titles about the nature of Soulsborne combat. They know it better than I do, seeing as this was my first of it's kind. At time of writing this, my only other experience is just past beating Ornstein and Smough in DS1. (after beating ER) I see why so many love that fight.

But this is a review for Elden Ring, so I'll stay focused on this game.

Lastly, before you enter this world, there's a few more things you need to know.
1. Don't attack the guy who calls you maidenless. You can kill him later if you really want to, but trust me, you aren't ready. (he's got some good quest rewards too)
2. Bladd is best boy.
3. Hewg deserves all of the love.

Now, rise, ye Tarnished. Rise and journey to stand before the Elden Ring... and become the Elden Lord.
And don't you dare go hollow.
