I find it okay, in it's current state.

Some things I wish were done right out of the gate:
- Better Campaign fixes and polishing. The cinematics are stunning, but there are a few moments where you can just tell they rushed animations, in-game cutscenes, or textures (and no, I'm not running this on a potato PC either).
- Larger MP maps. This is probably my biggest, and many people's biggest gripe. The maps feel SO congested. You compare the maps here from a BF4 or BF1 map, and the contrast is 100% stark; it's a whole different ballgame at this point. In addition to this, the zones sometimes make no sense, layout-wise (especially in Breakthrough).
- Hit registration/consistency. This is also a big problem for a lot of players too, as you can go online and find ANYONE at all complaining about the hit registration being so inconsistent, and at times it really is bloody awful. Not sure what the fix is here, but overall: don't be surprised by an inconsistent gameplay as a soldier.
- All guns for all classes/roles. This, IMO, was probably one of the dumbest things DICE did for BF6. Not only does this allow anyone to play anyway they like, but also with whatever GUN they like. Newsflash: this is BATTLEFIELD. You're MEANT to play a role specializing in one type of gun or the other, which brings me to my next point.
- Limited guns; more nonsense. Holy smokes are there hardly any guns this time around, and that's saying something. You fire up BF4 or even BF1, and the amount of guns available for those games are INSANE. This game? there's 8 rifles, 7 carbines, 8 SMGs, 8 LMGs, 4 DMRs, 3 SNIPERS, 3 SHOTGUNS, 4 HANDGUNS. The base game of BF4 had about the same rifles at launch, but gees: 10 snipers to choose from, 12-13 LMGs, etc.
- Battlepass/Battle Royale. Okay, mind you, I threw in the battlepass strictly because it's just another annoying modern AAA gaming trope to just through in season passes, and just have people pay for what is, ultimately, something that should be FREE updates. Because it's incentivizing players to buy the battlepass for FOMO and specific weapons to unlock, this makes it the worst offender of this game rn, as well as the Battle Royale mode. Battlefield is already a Battle Royale...it's called shoving people onto a huge map, with or without bots, and having massive scale warfare, as you saw in BF4 and BF1.

There are a bunch of other gripes I could list, but honestly despite all of this, have I enjoyed it more than I have disliked it? Yes, yes I have. So, while this seems all negatives, know that there are more positives I can say about this game than what I list here. With friends, it's fun. I definitely recommend waiting and getting it on sale though: $70 is definitely a bit steep.

Absolute adrenaline-rush when you get a few levels in, with the music being non-stop hype.

I remember buying this in a humble-bundle or something years and years back, but then recently installing it...and I was enthralled almost instantly.

Seriously: if you like quick, but engaging gameplay, with super-easy controls, just to have a good time: this game is surprisingly epic. A true celebration to Pac-Man through the years.

It's honestly not too bad, tbh.
However, certain aspects of this game I wish worked better, specifically the time spent on the map as the circle closes. It feels like it should have another 2-3 minutes before each circle of the storm closes in, or just have more circles to close before the boss arrives?
In addition, the lacking presence of any real indicators/time limits are daunting, esp when the entire purpose of this game's core loop is spending your time wisely. There's nothing, only telling you when you need to move now, because the storm's closing in now.

Everyone's been screaming and complaining about the VC being a lacking option, but frankly unlike Fortnite, or another game like that: this is honestly fine as is. I don't NEED to chat with my teammates, but we do need to ping the map, and start making moves. Because you're on a time crunch, chit-chat or jokes are not something you can do; it's literally do or die.

I do think the massive gripe I have right now is how people have explained that Remembrances are done ONE AT A TIME. That's absolutely absurd, tbh.
Also, idk why cosmetics have to cost so dang much, tbh. I'm sure more will become available as we go on playing, but there's only 3 variants of each character skins right now? And you need at least 14,000 Marks just to buy 1 skin.
FromSoft...this isn't a FTP mobile game, is it? Because it begins creeping in on me that there will be premium currency introduced, and a lot of cosmetics that may begin to feel out of place? I sincerely hope that's not the roadmap for this game, because it's loads of fun with friends.

The lack of Duos and an offline mode is kinda a let down, but as stated: the online is pretty well done, overall.

At any rate, it's criticisms like these that don't keep me away from this game, because I still DO LOVE it. It's faster-paced, unique every time, and doesn't demand a whole lot of attention if you know Elden Ring well enough; the transition from one game to the other was easy as pie.
Definitely fun with friends, doable with randoms; all the people struggling with online play are either needing to practice more, haven't played Elden Ring before, or just need to focus on moving, rather than looting. I've run 2 raids now w/ randoms, and both times I finished beating the Nightlord, so I don't get how people are struggling there? I also haven't experienced any massive frame dips or spikes except when there's a LOT of things going on on-screen. I'm running a 6800 XT, so idk why or how people are experiencing really bad frames, or crashes.

As a first timer for this franchise, I cannot recommend this game enough.

It's fun.
It's action-packed.
It's atmospheric.
It's full of puzzles.
It's bloody horrifying.

Give it a try, I say: you'll be weirded out, but also in amazement from the sheer variety this kind of game can offer.

I arrived. I tired. I failed.

Simply could not get into this scene. I loved Titanfall, did NOT like this game.

Reason why Titanfall works? GIANT FIGHTING MECHS. This has none of that crud, so you're left to either a really competent team, or bust.

Not ideal in a BR game, let alone a BR with Hero powers...sooooo, no thank you.

I am an old-schooler CoD player, back in the Modern Warfare and World at War generation...this is not Call of Duty anymore. I used to dabble in War Zone every now and again on console...did not like it. Tried it again years ago, still not good. Tried it on PC months back (battle net ver)...nope.

It's the cesspool of modern mediocrity and marketing gone horribly chaotic and just...wrong.
"Oh I know, let's bring in The Boys, everyone loves that Amazon original show!"
"Oh, oh- Nikki Minaj in a skimpy bright pink combat suit, with glitter and eye-candy! YEAH!"

How about this guys: go back and play Call of Duty from Modern Warfare up until Black Ops II, and tell me the resemblance of this WarZone monstrosity and those games.
Heck, the gunplay is almost not the same anymore too, which is insane for a CoD title! The fact of the matter is that nobody should've been playing this anyways, for the longest time.
What War Zone should've been was just a Big Team Battle/Ground War game mode built into the already existing multi-player, with HUGE maps, 50v50, and...oh wait, THEY ALREADY HAD THAT. It was actually just Ground War, and that had literal pocket regions from the War Zone map, but they were big enough to support 32v32 games. It wasn't the best, but it felt more engaging at times than just doing standard TDM/FFA, or even the original War Zone. What I want to know is why it didn't just take big notes from Battlefield, where War Zone IS the map, but you start with a giant area as Zone 1, then if you fall back or succeed (pending on team's mission), you all move forward to Zone 2 (keeping Zone 1 available), and then again with Zone 3. Eventually, the whole map is open, but the objectives don't move. This is the kinda formula we'd expect from OG Call of Duty, not this Forknife, Apex Legends, PUBG-esk nightmare!

War Zone started to dip into the modern mainstream crud, and now it's paying dearly. DMZ didn't save it. Modern mediocrity can't and won't save it. So, it's beyond saving now.

This whole idea should never have taken off the ground back in Black Ops IV when they brought in the Blackout game mode (the predecessor to War Zone). It didn't require a relaunch of the game, it didn't require 100 GB updates, it was it's own mode...but it worked, technically. Gameplay wise it was awful too...but War Zone made it worse.

Frankly speaking: I sincerely hope whoever's overlooking Activision-Raven right now steps out, and someone else starts it all over again from the ground up, because my goodness, this game could be amazing with the level of assets it throws our way, just utilized in all the wrong ways; they need to return to the arcade formula of what this franchise was all about: well designed maps (big and small), cool variety of MILITARY weapons (not these sci-fi/goochie guns we get), cool looking operators/characters, both stand-alones and campaign characters (THAT YOU UNLOCK FOR FREE), challenge-based progression systems for cool unlocks, with the standard XP system (MW '19 and BO II had the best, IMO: balanced, but not too easy), calling cards and emblems unlocked via challenges (again FREE, and cool looking that bring you back to the MW2 days), IBM (input based matchmaking), and DEDICATED SERVERS (NOT PEER-TO-PEER, I despise this system, because if someone is host and they leave, the match ENDS).
Zombies is always gonna be okay, it's declined since Cold War (IMO one of the better recent zombie entries), but man do I miss having a challenge in that, and the survival mode in the MW title games. Bots were a cool intro in Black Ops (2010), and were even cooler in BO II, but my gosh is the AI braindead now. Either they have to go in weird paths to get to you, or they will kill you because it's round 50 and there's 10 Juggernauts.

At any rate, this version and iteration of the game needs to stop, die and be born again as something new, or just go back to the old formulas that WORKED.

Yeah, It's not that it's a bad game...I just can't recommend it for someone who just wants a casual/intermediate zombies experience.

This is WAY too invested and technical, and far more headache than I wanted from a zombie survival game. I spent all my recorded game time running away, healing, running away, healing than I did collecting, building or researching things. Not how I wanted to spend an hour. Mind you too, I even tweaked a lot of settings for it to be easier, and I still did horrible. I'm not trying to make that statement as an excuse, but more so just to shed some light on my overall experience; it's very challenging and VERY time investing, and that's simply not what I was hoping for. And while I know there are mods for this, I was hoping to not need to resort to modding to enjoy this game's style and atmosphere.

But alas: this game is just not for me.

Well...maybe just one more try...

It's good. I liked the 2D graphics more, and no talking monkeys, but it's still cool. Progression is neat, but ultimately not too different from previous game entries.

What can I say? Bloons gotta get popped.

Okay, so I wanted to do a revised review from scratch.
Do I think this DLC is worth $40 bucks? Yes, I think 40 bucks is the cap for a fair price point. Beyond that, and you're asking for trouble; not worth more than that, I'd wager.

Now, does this DLC have issues? Absolutely, and these can be either accepted as facts, or just my own interpretation as I've gone through it all.
Certain boss fights I've encountered throughout the Shadowlands have been a mixed bag of balanced, fun, unfair, or just straight up jokes. For instance: the notorious first NPC boss you'll encounter, the Solitude Knight guy: that dude will literally 2-3 tap you INSTANTLY at the BEGINNING of the DLC. Mind you, I have tried in two forms: NG and NG+. In both instances, this knight hits hard. Why is it that, for no apparent reason, all the enemies suddenly hit 10x harder than the base area of the game? Even with the rather underwhelming unique progression system of the Scadutree fragments, it all seems rather absurd and misplaced.
I will say it's good that they include a DLC-exclusive leveling system, so as not to tear apart and make the base game areas unbalanced and broken for newcomers, or just people who are out adventuring. Back onto another boss: I'll go fight a boss like Bayle, and have almost no trouble with him, because his moves are very obvious and flashy, while a boss who just dishes out 50 moves in 10 seconds is near-impossible to fight alone.

I think a good way to put it is (and this was stated by someone else in the community/reviews): some of these ridiculously hard bosses are just trying to 1-Up the Malenia bossfight...and that's fine, but it shouldn't be to the detriment of the experience, which it has been a few times. Malenia was a cool fight because she was 1 in a million; she was 1 out of 3 toughest fights from the whole base game, and when you got through it, it actually felt good and gave you a LOT of rewards. These fights in the DLC? Nah...almost none of them really feel that rewarding like Malenia was, and sure: not every single one needs to be a reward, but the fights themselves can be a bit more balanced and fun and memorable too! Malenia is very memorable because of the waterfowl dance technique and the Scarlet Aeonia attack. Her fight is literally built around these things. Some of these bosses felt and played very forgettably, and almost made me just want to be done with the fight after 5 minutes of either being in the battle, or having died 10 times in that timeframe. It's just like I say: it's a mixed bag of bossfights: some fun, some bad; some challenging, some busted. Some are joke fights that were too easy/weak, others were just repeats from the base game.

The other major gripe I have is the lack of new items, crafting and such. No, they did make a lot of new recipes and such...but most of them are just improved recipes of already existing items. For example: you can now get a recipe that is the warmstone that heals you for like 10 seconds or so in an aura for you and anyone else nearby. Well, they gave us another recipe for an improved version...but the crafting for it requires a rare material that you can't get anywhere except in the DLC area...so, it seems kinda pointless when the one material you need to craft it is not something I can find all the time or buy from a vendor with infinite stock of that material, when I also can just get the lesser base-game version that does the trick anyways. In tandem with this, the amount of times I'd go looting something that was in a hard-to-find/reach place, only to find "Thin Beast Bones" or "Smithing Stone (3)" was absolutely appalling and unacceptable. I cannot express how backwards and moronic this was as a design choice...why would you give us an endgame DLC area, and litter it with garbage loot? That is so bad and disappointing, FromSoftware...come on.

But listen: despite all these addressed gripes/issues (both by me and the community), I still love it all: at the heart of it all, it's still a FromSoftware experience. And that to me is what I pay for. I don't pay solely for the loot, or the story or the bossfights alone...I pay for it all in one big package...and one that I can share with both my friends, and the community of Elden Ring players/fellow tarnished. That to me is enough to look beyond these small issues I personally have, and just sit back, relax, and die over and over again to Commander Giaus!
