I have been a fan of this game for a very long time. But I cannot in good conscience recommend this to you and your friend group in its' current state. Here's why:

This game relies on it being the backrooms (and to be honest, it's the best backrooms adaptation. But that's not high praise, most backrooms games are shovelware garbage) to make it fun. I like the backrooms. That means I like this game.

HOWEVER, the new content is incredibly disappointing. Everything in the game feels more like a chore, with repetetive enemies, repetetive objectives. It's buggy still. Even with multiple paths and exits/endings, very limited player free choice to explore the game. You and your friends will have fun at first, but you'll soon realize it's because you're playing with friends, not because the game is a genuinely good game.

I had high hopes for the updates. Even skipped the previous update to play in tandem with the 1.0 content drops. I've seen everything the game has to offer firsthand minus level "You cheated", which is just a room for lore purposes.

Save your money. Keep an eye on this game. If content is steadily added over the next two years, so the game has double the levels it has now and ONLY IF THE CONTENT IS NOT REPETETIVE I could see this being worth the time and money investment (10$/person) for a group of friends. But for now and the forseeable future, I don't think it's worth it. You'd have more fun with some of the new-wave roblox horror titles.

I appreciate the dev for making a good backrooms game. I will continue to support the dev in spirit. But I cannot condone shipping this out, calling it good, and raking in bank from something that, underneath it's lore/backrooms exterior, quite frankly sucks.

For the cost of your average fast food combo, you can have some of the most fun you can have on steam/steam deck/controller. All the people complaining about variety seem to forget this is a roguelike, but also a timewaster game. Just spin the slot, try to finish the game. Since it's luck based, could finish it rather quickly, could take you some time.

All I know is it will give you hours more fun than 9 dollars worth of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fastfood grease meal. Buy it, keep it for a rainy day when you're bored or sleepless, enjoy it.

If you, at any point, really enjoyed "World Of Horror" this game should be a 100% buy for you, it's very similar as far as feel/gameplay loop goes. Pretty fun.

Unfortunately, keeping that similarity in mind, things will become/seem repetitious pretty quick. However, for 6 bucks, you truly can't complain, the lore/new things that get sprinkled in as you play seem interesting enough.

I'd say this is worth the money, even at 6.99. People have certainly charged more for less.

60 fps, no VR implemented. Otherwise runs ok-ish.

Story is fun, gameplay often tedious.
True ending requires you to bend over backwards.
Buggy, poor controls. I assume it's weird because of future VR support.
Almost lands in so bad it's good territory but is closer to bad.
Occasionally some pretty cool set pieces, but you probably expected that.
For 19.99 AT MOST I could see this being worth the money, having paid 40$, I feel kinda ♥♥♥♥ about it. Debated refunding, stuck it through. Not worth it at this time.

35 bucks is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ expensive, but worth it to support the dev.

Game is weird. I love it. It's a unique experience, you just have to be open minded.

Definitely very rough around the edges, but if you can work with that and you liked cruelty squad, you should enjoy this.

8$ is the same price for a movie tiicket to keep you busy for two hours, this is a pretty good ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ movie. Bare minimum gameplay wise, but that lets you tune out and enjoy the atmosphere and story.

This game is really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good. A great way to brainlessly waste time on a roguelike while having fun. I've finished the game and acquired about 70% of the achievements after 27 hours of playing (not achievement hunting) the game to its' completion. Runs great, is 4 dollars, scratches the dark fantasy itch with path of exile/diablo inspired gameplay. It's super fun to push certain abilites/characters with certain builds just to see how many things you can make blow up at once.

10/10 An absolute blast. 4.00 price point makes this a must play if you're a fan of the roguelike genre/gameplay loop. There is a lot to love here. Honestly, for 4.00, you can't even complain about either the quality/quantity of content offered.

Just buy the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game and have fun with it. Even if you only play for 4hr you've gotten your money's worth. And with the way the game is structured (no spoilers) theres a clear implication that more content is to come, so support the devs so we can see it.

Ignore all negative reviews. They're succboi light class mains that don't enjoy the new changes. The movement changes mentioned never occurred on the development side. Game still feels the same after resetting my settings to what I had in the beta. Check the discord. Friends list is a bit funky but will work given some restarts. You don't have to pay for it.

You will either love or hate this game, you will also either ♥♥♥♥ yourself over epic games services (it uses their multiplayer servers, not steam's) or not care all that much. Game has a different sort of pacing. While most roguelikes set you up in arenas you have you clear, random generated environments, this game makes you run up a gothic hand-crafted mountain while being CONSTANTLY chased by demons at your heels. Like a sprint to your eternal glory sort of thing, rather than progressing through a labyrinth or level by level. You just have to give it a shot to see.

Epic games servers? This game was made from financial support/grant from epic games. That's the price for that financial backing. That being said I have noticed a couple clunky bugs involving stopping/starting the game and launching EGS processes, but they aren't intrusive just strange. It's no reason to review bomb the game.

However the game is not bad, by any means. Lots of love and effort here, just not for everyone. Give it a shot. Devs really seemed to put their blood, sweat, and tears into the game and the way they interact with community is amazing.

seems to run great on older hardware aswell, using an i5 3750, a 6 year old hard drive, and a 970 to play this.

This is a very fun game, a great alternative to Diablo.

However, if you're not very interested in the game as a whole, you probably won't ever be into it. There's not really a middle-ground for this game. You either love it or hate it.

Massive amount of customization options, some of the best developers on steam, content updates almost every other month, a good community willing to help you if you ask.
