I play a lot because Im locked into this ecosystem. I'll cut to the chase.
✅ = Manual driving is fun, the jumps are great and there are lots of beautiful tracks.
✅ = The range of cars is fantstic, the upgrade progression is well balanced, refined over many years.
✅ = The effects are second to none, I wish other games would learn from this.
❌ = The main mechanic is "huge grind to get things, pay for shortcuts". Ive done the car grind now but for most its too grindy. The gambling-baits, P2W and heavy marketing are wearing. Costs are too high, its always so overpriced to get relatively little - you can buy entire games for the price of a season pass.
❌ = The game is increasingly optimised for touchdrivers. If you dont want to drive why are you playing a driving game? Yet driving manually has become a disadvantage in many events. Sometimes I have to switch to touch drive just to compete. Touchdrive defeats the point of a racing game.
❌ = It's a jumble of complexity. Currencies for example just keep multiplying and they keep adding dud features (often very complex ones) then removing them. Maybe charge less, design better?
❌ = Unfair treatment of customers. I had many hours on android, and spent a lot. They reset my account for "cheating" because I used android on Chromebook, which they incorrectly flagged as a "cheating emulator", and they ignored my appeal, stealing my money. Im sorry but any company that runs things like that does not deserve a thumbs up. Personally Im invested now, but my advice is not to get yourself into that position with any company that wont treat you fairly.

I mainly play because I've bulit a great garage over a long period of time but for newcomers I recommend a game with fairer pricing and that treats customers better like Dirt 5, NFS Heat or Forza.

Utterly epic expansion for an utterly epic game.
Better than almost every movie.

(Had this in GOG but its a flaky platform so bought it on steam with the expansion so you can add a couple of hundred hours to that reported play time) ... wow just wow the expansion is insane. Already among my top 5 games of all time as it was. Better than any movie.

Valheim is the journey of a viking who sails boats, crafts weapons, collects resourses and builds as he/she moves from the Meadows, through the Black Forest to the Swamp, Mountain and on to the Plains, building ever more complex bases and powering up to defeat bosses. Its a ton of fun if you like survival/ crafting/ base building games.

There's also this addon game at the end called "Mistlands and Ashlands" which is terrible and I have no interest in. So just stop before that. It's still a great game.

The train valley series is one of the best casual transport management games ever created.
Strips back all the nonsense of transport strategy games leaving only the fun.

Bit of a faff getting it to work above HD, but it's an awesome game.
