Team Fortress 2 is a pizza.
It used to be steaming hot with melted cheese that would make your mouth fall in love with every condiment and topping at the first bite, served by no other than a passionate team of chefs that did their best to satisfy you and every customer.

You recommended your friends the pizza, and they also loved it!
Your friends would gather up and chat as you eat, having a nice hangout, realizing that this restaurant wasn't just for eating, but for socializing.
Hell, you've met plenty of new people there too!
Whenever you would come alone, you'd talk and meet new people and get invited to their table to hang out with them.
Sometimes the pizza would give surprises, like limited time discounts, deals, combos, and so on. Plenty of reasons to keep coming back for more!

You feel like this sensational restaurant and its energy is not going anywhere.
Little did we all know, we gave it for granted and not realize that today's memories would become tomorrow's nostalgia.

Today, the restaurant is borderline empty.
The condiments are all the same. Pepperoni, cheese, hand tossed crust... pepperoni, cheese, hand tossed crust... pepperoni, cheese, hand tossed crust... all year round. No limited events, no combos, nothing.
The pizza is not even made by the same cooks anymore, as they've been offered new and better jobs at other places.

It's still fine to eat, but it clearly isn't as good as it was when it was hot.
Some people will argue that its just as good and you are just being picky, but only you and no one else knows how much you liked that hot pizza.
It's harder to convince your friends to come together and eat a mediocre pizza at a rundown restaurant, instead of trying something else like a local restaurant, another fast food place, or hell, even just a different pizza place that's got more care and attention.

You pick your slice of pizza and walk to the same table you have always taken for years.

As you walk there, you look down at the slice.
It's still got the same look... yet everything else falls bland.

The same toppings, but less on top.
The same cheese, but cheaper.
The same bread, but thinner crust.

...

Dozens of other pizza places, hundreds of restaurants, thousands of different types of plates served in either small local businesses to big franchises.

Yet,
you come to the same mismanaged, borderline abandoned, and stale restaurant to get the same slice of pizza that you once called 'the best of its kind' back then.
The disillusion going through your head that this time, soon something will change.
"Maybe a new management will fix this place... or maybe a new team of cooks! Or- or what about that new pizza they were talking about... years ago..."

...

Take a seat.
Enjoy your bland pizza.
