If you like a little bit of rogue-light, atmosphere, and extraction shooters. HOLE is a great match for you. While there's not a massive amount of content, it's seriously enjoyable for all 5-8 hours of content in the game. Really fun base mechanics and just a good time all around.

If you really like souls games for primarily their combat, specifically the hard focus on affinities, this is for you.

If you like fighting the same enemies for the entire game in different locations, this is for you.

If you like rehashing the same 10 bosses around 113 times, this is for you.

I don't really like any of this. Nothing in this game feels satisfying to the point that I'd compare it to any of its siblings. No matter how I built my character the game was either pushover easy, or unfun.

Every boss and major enemy does an attack that causes a wind AOE, every single one can traverse an entire arena in a second, and if you get close to them they just start doing tantrum attacks. The windows to actually do anything are so small that they prolong fights to the point of tedium rather than intensity. You either have a stick that does some random spell or you just get used to an absurd amount of in and out slashes that make everything take ages.

Elden Ring is a game for someone, but it's really not me.

As someone absolutely obsessed with proximity chat group games, and having freshly experienced Lorn's Lure and White Knuckle. This game hits the spot REALLY well.

The climbing is simple and super approachable on the surface, however there are tons of small optimizations you can do if you're into that sort of thing! It doesn't leave me wanting all that much because for a physics based sillygame it really has some super solid foundation, the base mechanic works well for all skill levels and that's a lot to applaud.

The teamwork is sublime, it succeeds a core part of the game to the point that it becomes very satisfying to work as a unit and compliment each other's skills and resources. Proximity chat is very well designed, allowing more communication at distances if you're willing to yell just a little bit. It also adds to the ability to locate and help friends quite easily.

Over all the whole experience is super fun, there are some engine quirks and the final areas REALLY need optimization. However, these are small things, some of which can hopefully be adjusted in updates.

While I'm uncertain how long the devs will support this project in comparison to their other similar ones, I certainly hope it's goes on for a good bit. So long as the levels keep showing up daily, I'll keep playing. Anything to get my friends together and laughing. And quite honestly that's the most important thing out of it all.

Easily one of my favorite rogue-lite story games of the last few years, if not all time.

Movement is fun. World is fantastic. And there's a level of genuine intensity throughout.

Extremely charming and a blast to play.

Even with my toe just dipped into this game, I feel like it's gonna be one that sticks with me be it through style, sound, or charm. The aesthetics here are completely on point, I wish more games just had this much character because just wow it's gushing out of this one. Absolutely LOVE the soundtrack.

Gameplay is solid too, even as someone who struggles with bullet hells I feel oddly in control of the chaos. Somehow so much more readable compared to other roguelites in the same vein. Weapons and upgrades all mix together in interesting ways, melee and ranged options sometimes combos of them are plentiful and unique. And it's fun, bouncy and fun.

If you are a fan of the blitz-like rogue-lite genre, this is definitely a high recommendation.

I love all the other company-likes, but this one is so far above the rest.

The core loop is engaging and implores teamwork, the levels are phenomenal, and the aesthetic is just great. The character modes and interactions are better than any other, I adore them. The ability to slowly work towards a goal, and revive friends while doing it, makes this a MUCH better party game for long nights of laughing and shouting.

Good golly keep up the good work.

The core gameplay of this game has promise but after multiple attempts to get back into finishing this, I can't quite enjoy it. There's a lack of depth to the roguelike elements and it leaves you feeling annoyingly underwhelmed and constantly limited by the tools given to you.

It's not my type of roguelike, but it could probably be yours.

Odd Realm is a passion project by a very wonderful person.

It has come incredibly far from the game I helped test years ago and I'm beyond impressed.

Odd Realm wears its inspirations proudly and does them a lot of justice while maintaining its own aspects and flow. If you like anything in the fortress-like genre, please give this one a try! I genuinely adore the visual style going on here and one of the best parts of the game is making these intricate little settlements that are probably the most visually pleasing to me in the genre.

You can also find a character of mine in here! They're pretty cool!

An incredible love letter to the original game that doesn't step on toes. If you love Silent Hill, I think you'll love this.
