During the COVID-19 pandemic, I went through one of the hardest times in my life, and Hollow Knight was what kept me going. This year, I lost my internship and a long-term relationship, making 2025 one of the most difficult years I’ve ever faced. Over the past month, playing Silksong took me back to those days five years ago, when Hollow Knight first saved me. I felt that same drive to keep living just to uncover the story of these tiny bugs, the frustration of dying to a boss when I was so close to winning, and the constant sense of being lost — and how much I had missed that feeling. They say lightning doesn’t strike in the same place twice, but both Hollow Knight and Silksong found me exactly when I needed them most.
