I mean, Rat Girl Queen of Anarchy definitely draws from the feminist electroclash of acts like Le Tigre and Chicks on Speed from the early 2000s, I can see why someone would call her hyperpop but her cheesy chiptune influence definitely comes more from the bitpop of I-F and Crystal Castles of the same electroclash scene, it really is a love letter to those 80s new wave acts like the B-52s and late 70s british synthpop acts like OMD, Ultravox, Gary Numan and especially The Normal considering one of her songs uses the lyrics from Warm Leatherette, a common song for people of that scene to cover due to it's pioneering DIY synth punk nature, which again, I can see why you would think she is death noise pop too, but those elements are OBVIOUSLY drawing influence from the synth punk / minimal synth New York act Suicide and their first album from 1977, I mean really, the sampling of Frankie Teardrop on track 4? Sublime.
