Probably one of the best 3D sonic games, especially recently.
Open zone areas feel good to run around and do things in, cyber space stages feel off for the most part, only feeling good in the level that take layouts from the adventure games.
Not perfect by any means but nothing so bad that it kills the game for me, and on PC you can at least mod the parts you don't like to "fix" them to some extent and there is already a good number of mods popping up, though keep in mind that any mod made to "fix" things like physics or combat will come with the problem of making some parts of the game extremely hard or impossible is some cases, the only mod I would recommend for a first time play-though is Elder Koco Fixed [gamebanana.com] as that is over all one of the most painful thing to go though in the game.

Story is also fine enough, nothing super amazing or unheard of for a Sonic game, feels like Sega got a cold feet at some points as there is a build up all game to something that is just brushed off and is just gone and forgotten.
The cyber corruption is slowly building up over the game to a point that sonic is rendered basically dead, he falls immobile and unresponsive, Tails, Knuckles and Amy then hold hands and the corruption is gone and everything just moves on.

Price feels a bit high but making the game would have been a huge undertaking and a large learning experience for the for the team so I can understand its pricing.


Overall a good game, has its flaws but I feel it is a step in the right direction for 3D Sonic.
