What a game 11/10

It's a shame there is no option for "no not yet"

This will have no spoilers so feel free to read the entire post.

as of 16/09/2023 the game is 75% finished. Most of the first 3/4 of the game is amazing and Larian have really show us how games should be made.

Somewhere along the line they lost their way and you end up feeling lost. Without spoilers I feel like it just isn't complete yet.

I loved every second I played but I think I will wait for them to add the content they were clearly missing.

Came for the comments, wasn't dissapointed.

Do not buy this game if you have 100s of hours on Div 2.

I bought this because I wanted to experience a new story in the divinity world but boy was I wrong to invest in this.
It is rife with bugs, a poor UI. Poor Dialogue and the world effects/enemies and pathing working nothing like div 2 - the game straight up has you waste all your AP trying to path around fire instead of just auto pathing out of it.

Worst problem we had, every time we loaded or a summoned any minion the game forced me to reassign who was controlling what character (Playing multiplayer)

Quite a few times as melee I would click while the sword is there only to have the camera shift over somewhere else and have me start walking in that direction.

TL:DR If you are new to divinity get this, then play Div 2 (don't skip if you hate div 1) because Div 2 is much much better

Good game, not as good as the original but it doesn't change the story.

Trial Mode and the fact that cheats are built in make the game quite trivial. I found the speed up helps because otherwise it would take 2 hours to get from A to B.

You like FF- just buy it.

Very good game!

After completing this game fully and unlocking everything (except the ingen Data bases that don't really do anything) I can give my opinion the game as a whole - Scroll down for TL:DR

Pros:
1. This game looks beautiful and runs very fluidly. I love that the didn't just focus entirely on the dinosaurs but also the the enviroment

2. It's fun, simple and easy to play. You don't really have to meticulously design your park

3. It has a campaign that puts you on different islands that give you handicaps to seemingly give the game a challange (I'll go over this one in one of the cons)

4. The voice actors tell jokes and express their opinions all in character which makes for interesting development while playing

5. You get to go to the old islands (from the films) and rebuilds them.

6. Dinosaurs fighting

7. Animations of the dinosaurs are really good, watching velociraptors talk to each other (will go over this more in cons)

Cons:

1. The biggest issue I have with this game is the cost. I bought the delux edition for £45 but i don't really feel it's worth that much as for the reasons stated below (I would suggest it being £30 with delux being £35

2. You can't lose - What i mean by this is that there is never really any threat of losing - as long as you don't purposfully try to make yourself go bankcrupt, it can't really happen. This makes the game feel more like a telltale walkthrough game with slightly more options

3. Time gated content - I know that it wouldn't be a good game if you just had everything from the start but there really isn't any challange to getting the dinosaurs except for building your park, making one dino then basically just wait.

4. Dinosaurs don't really interact with each other with a few exceptions.

5. Dino Statistics don't work alot of the time - E.G I had a T-Rex that loves grassland - I made a HUGE enclosure for it with plenty of grass land (almost 90% of it) My T-Rex was unhappy, broke out and ate some people.

6. You can't have 2 Big Dinos in one enclosure - So you can't have 2 T-Rex otherwise they will fight. Understandbly they can't reproduce as they have no gender ( so no male/female pen sharing) but I would argue that the bigger Dino would not want to be entirely isolated and have atleast 1 other of their species with them without fighting to the death.

7. No management - Although simple and easy to use it just doesn't feel like there is any management to the park. You don't really have to think about your building except for you to put them next to a hotel/monorail.

8. The humans are dull - This links with 7. The humans don't have any emotion, unlike most sim games you play where guest are unhappy about specific things and let you know they are. In this game the indicator is how close certain objects are to others. I wanted to know is wendy was happy with the Gyro ride she used, was it too long or short? All we get is an overview of everyone.

9. No Staff - So there are no staff to manage, you make the building and that is that. The park stays clean and you don't require bins or cleaners. Some staff do come out of buildings in white coats but if they all get eaten no one cares and it still runs.

10. 1 Entrance (in campaign) - So you can only have 1 entrance and it can't be moved, this makes the game extremly static and can be quite annoying. On top of this it is only required to connect power to your park. You can make a hotel in the middle of nowhere on a fresh park and guest spawn out of it.

TL:DR
Pricey,Fun, look great ,Easy with the downside of being possibly a bit too easy - Requires more Dino interaction and human interaction. They should add bins + staff - Time gated game.

Prognosis:
Would buy for £30 and reccomend can't reccomend at this stage with content it currently has.
