One of the most polished MMOs I've seen in a long time, with beautiful graphics that run smooth under stress (if you have the computer specs for it), a riviting story - especially in the HeavensWard expansion - and beautiful music. Though it can be grindy and times and can fall under a few annoying MMO tropes, the bottom line is that you won't be disappointed by this MMO.

Very refined city builder. Been a sim fan since the original Sim City came out, and while that series has been going downhill in recent years, I can say that Skylines has picked up the slack. It's not absolutely perfect, but it gives you a ton of options, and a ton of playability where it's easy to get into the game, but hard to master it. There's a ton of depth for those that love open ended games, and a ton to like. Recommend it for anyone that loves sim games or city builders.

This game (call it a "walking simulator", not a bad thing by any stretch) is amazing in what it is trying to do: to convey a story about a four year old boy, Joel, who lost his battle with cancer after it was found at an early age. The story is done in a typographic font way, with the voice acting carrying the narrative really well, conveying each emotion extremely well.

And emotion you will have, because the game's story ends up getting more and more heart breaking the more you get into it. Later on in the game, you end up seeing the sheer pain of what Joel's parents had to go through (there is one particular scene later in the game that can be rather hard on the psyche to have to listen to, I won't say any more than that). The family seems to try to be strong and not let Joel's sickness get in the way of a livelyhood, but the narrative shows just how tough things were for the family, and how tightly knit things were when dealing with the realization of the inevitable. It's carried by a very riviting soundtrack (and yes, the game's recommendation of using headphones to listen IS one you should heed).

This is not to say the game is perfect, though. Does have a few flaws. There are a few spots in which the game's controls seem somewhat off in a few scenes, and when you get to those sections, you will know what I'm talking about. It also, in a few sections, fails to give the player enough feedback of what they are supposed to do to advance the story. These are few and far between this 3 hour experience, but you'll know them immediately when you get to them.

But don't let these small flaws hinder you from picking this one up. If you want a truly emotional, heart breaking experience that won't take you a ton of time to finish, then this will be your title. A word of warning: the game does lay on several religious aspects hard, so keep an open mind about those. But even if you aren't religious in the slightest, the emotion, immersion, and the symbolic scenes are more than enough to warrant a recommendation.

This game tells a very engaging story that is done through a mechanic of rewinding time and trying to change possible outcomes before you become stuck with them (thereby having the chance to change your decision before exiting the zone, in which you would then be stuck with the decision).

The story centers around a young college student who is old school with photography (she's still using the Polaroid instant picture cameras). She has a vision of a tornado before soon finding out that she has the power to rewind time and put right what goes wrong. A major mystery is the disapperance of a young girl who the protagonist's friend had befriended herself. It's an engaging plot brought along by terrific voice acting that makes you feel as though you are watching an independent film, with fitting music and visual graphic art style that, while it take a moment or two to get used to it, fits every single moment of the story telling. The characters feel real, and because of that, it immerses you into it's story.

Using this power, you have the ability to learn what the right answers are to some of the questions that will help you to proceed. Furthermore, the game does a terrific job in making you doubt every single decision you make, thereby giving you some incentitve to at least see the reactions of the people who you affect (at least the immediate reactions, as you're stuck with the decision once you exit that particualr zone). Sometimes, there are a few decisions that may lead to still alterate decisions in a particular area, which furthers the depth. There are no direct failure states, but the failure states are having to deal with the decisions you choose in the story. There are also some side elements that you can find out about, and can make decisions on that you might not even realize are there, giving you incentive to snoop around and search everywhere to find those hidden elements.

Like some Telltale Games, this will be released in a episodic format, and I implore you to get the full game. It only took me a few hours to complete episode one, but you might take longer if you search for everything. By far, a very gripping story and fluid controls and mechanics make this game worthy of your time.
