Played a couple hours so far, loving the style. The beginning of the game seems pretty easy, didn't lose once until nearing the end of my play session. The bosses are cool, and the enemy mechanic designs are simple, but with so many different types to deal with, the gameplay is complex. Unlocking new creatures is awesome! I was worried there wouldn't be very many creatures but they keep on coming. Only problem I can see is that its not necessary to bring variety into your swarm. If you just get Crabs and Cultist, you can easily tank most attacks while maintaining a ridiculous dps. Also crabs make fire enemies, which are usually a pain, an absolute breeze.

TLDR: Loving the game so far and can't wait to see more, slight balancing issues maybe, but other than that definitely worth a buy
