Stuttering on linux when the game loads new map segments and i had to use SteamTinkerLaunch to get the FOV to to something that wouldnt make me throw up. works good enough

Aloy counts to 2 instead of 3 to synchronize timing between people. not like "1..2...now!" or "1...2...3...now!". No instead she says "1...Now!". This is a microcosm for this whole game. There's nothing that really bad with it, but a lot thats weird.

Im currently playing through the later half of my first ever playthrough on the hardest difficulty by messing with the games terrible enemy AI. Every boss fight i have encountered has been beaten by finding the spot on the map where they either cant hit me, completly freeze up and stop attacking, or walking out of the predefined area where they are allowed to walk so i can take pot shots from a safe distance. I even got one to stop searching for me, go back to its starting position and glitch through a wall so i could attack its body parts clipping through the wall but it couldnt attack me. I did this multiple times as i tried to figure out how to best attack the boss. Is this cheating? maybe, but i found all of these methods by playing the game. no external help was needed. I really enjoy this game but just like the first one it leaves me with mixed feelings about the polish that went into it.

The third game needs more playtesters and QAQC.

Update: i went to a rebel camp. that was filled with snipers. none of the enemys talked when i engaged them. i thought it was a cool stylistic choice until i noticed that it was actually just a game bug where voice sound effects are disabled. I genuinly had more fun when the enemies couldnt talk and im left to nature and weapon sounds.

the open world sandbox can be very jank at times. the enemy AI is stupid... but i guess thats lore friendly since your predominately fighting machines with "AI". In my playthough i encountered invisible walls that stopped me from climbing certain surfaces in a way that felt cheap. most of the side quests are half baked fetch quests with crapy dialogue and the world feels static. other then the occasional comment from an NPC, nothing really changes as you progress through different story lines.

That being said, the campaign is awesome. the story is great and im willing to brush aside all of this games short comings and recommend you to play it.

i only played one of the campaigns. i dont feel like i need to play any of the others. this kinda sucks. no build up. no suspense, just lots of stuff happening all the time. not even sure how i profited from the matter. also trying to manage my inventory in real time is terrible. i see why they did this to support the coop play but damn is the menu system frustrating. none of the bosses feel special or challenging. just run around and half the time the boss will just progress to the next stage regaurdless of what you do.

I have a windows laptop setup just to play this game because i use linux for work.... now they want me to enable secure boot to play the game. I guess i just haven't given EA enough ♥♥♥♥ yet.

Next months update will require a blood sacrifice, your first born and left nut to launch the game. matchmaking requires making a $100 refundable registration deposit, a picture of your government ID and a video call with EA support staff holding up your birth certificate and Social security card to the camera. (probably)

Im done with this game.

In our darkest hour, the hell divers clutched victory from the jaws of defeat! Super earth is safe.... For now. The automaton super bot, Sony, has been destroyed for the time being. I prey to liberty we never have to face it's wrath or mandatory account linking ever again. But the automaton hive mind never forgets and could decide to try another offensive if their stock price goes down. The hell divers must remain vigilant at all times.

Freedom never sleeps! Liberty must be earned!

Really good, but I feel it could have been better. On harder difficulties the gameplay boils down to using 1 or 2 weapons and stealth mode. The game lets you keep your weapons from the previous section to the next one and preserves your ammo count. This is cool because it means I can keep using the guns I want, but also means the game has to account for me having any combination of guns and upgrades. This requires the difficulty to be scaled back and ammo drops scattered everywhere to ensure the player can't softlock the game. you will never run out of ammo and guns are absolutely everywhere. playing on the hardest difficulty i have entered a few arenas and the AI took care of every enemy on screen without my interaction. This kinda ruins the power fantasy the game strives for. Everyone around you speaks like you're the second coming but they get on fine without you doing anything. Still really fun, but I never felt like I was challenged or outmatched in any way. I also didn’t like the waypoints being so specific. In the first game you are pointed at a general location and have to find the objective. This game is much more linear and you can bee line it to the waypoint throughout the entire game. Also they have these really cool cloaked enemies but they are woefully under used in the game.

I really like the universe this game creates, but the player definitely feels less impactful then in the previous game.
