bro… i think i might have superpowers. like i’m not saying i’m definitely a superhuman or whatever, but listen. last week i was standing by the river, right? i wave my hand—just a casual, bored kinda wave—and the old county bridge literally collapses. like boom. gone. dust and rebar. people screaming, news vans, the whole nine yards. and i’m just standing there with my hand mid-wave thinking “no way, no way that was me,” but also… maybe?

i mean sure, it’s an old bridge, probably bad engineering or rust or something, but what if it wasn’t? what if i’m like… kinetic or tele-something? i can’t exactly test it, though. what am i supposed to do, wave at an orphanage? plus, if they do investigate and somehow find out i was there, that’s, like, terrorism charges, right? “local man accidentally vibes bridge to death.” i can’t go to prison for being a possible god.

the worst part? i can’t stop thinking about it. every time i pass a building i wonder if i should wave again. just a little flick of the wrist, you know, to check. but what if it works? what if the news says “authorities still baffled”? i’d have to move. change my name. maybe shave my head like professor x but less confident. i keep replaying it—my arm moving, the sound of the collapse, the look on that one guy’s face. i think i’m haunted by the possibility that i’m powerful… but also by the idea that i just committed manslaughter with jazz hands.
