Ok, so, keeping in mind this game is still being developed... I love it!

Verdun! Literally my dream game. I love World War I, and no, I don't love killing people, unless of course it's a video game about trench warfare with squads and serious team based strategy and historically accurate weapons and uniforms and battlefields and ohh... please excuse me as I go to the bathroom.

AHHH I'm BACK!!!

Verdun is a first-person shooter that immerses you in the trench warfare of the Great War. You play in 4-person squads on teams of 16. It's the Allies versus the Central Powers, and as of the time of writing, the Allies consist of Canadian, British, and French (vive la <3) squads, and the Central Powers consist of German squads. Each team has different squad types, light infantry, stormtroopers, and basic infantry. There are machine guns (like the chauchat woot), submachine guns, scoped-rifles, ohh it's amazing.

The game requires players to advance as a team, through only allowing a team to attack OR defend at once, and work with their squads, by giving bonuses when you are close to your squad leader. It really works, and it's only gotten better. The community helps with this a lot too, maybe since the only people who are CRAZY enough to buy a World War I video game love World War I.

If you're looking for a new fps for your library, if you love history, if you like teamwork, if you for some reason hate Canadians (why?), then pick this up. You won't be disappointed.

I've literally dreamed of a World War I fps since I was 10. And it's here. At the time of writing, they even added a new map, the Marne! It's, like, the most beautiful trench warfare you've ever seen. The developers are consistently updating the game with bug fixes and new features. At the time of writing, the only frustration I have with the game is that it currently refuses to use the dedicated video card, but the developers are aware of this problem and are working on it.

They ruined the concept of what was an amazing, unique game. Why build walls or elaborate trenches when the enemy can just FLY over them? Why dig a long, complicated tunnel network to the enemy base when 9 year old children are destroying it? Why spend $15 on an unbalanced game when you can just buy a better game?

Ugh...please Paradox, just put those servers back up, get a free weekend, and this game will be saved.

It really is a great game. Being the long-standing, competitive shooter series it is, CS:S can be a very hard game to get into. No respawns and no health regeneration makes for very fast-paced action. But keep up with it, and you will enjoy. From the birthplace of our beloved "GunGame" to hostage rescues, Counter-Strike: Source really delivers.
