The game had potential, but if the devs would not listen to the active members in their community.

The gameplay is very stiff and restrictive, but it doesn't feel too unrealistic. Racing online was pretty good for the most part, but desync became an issue on multiple occasions and trolls are abundant in public lobbies.

Pros: Plenty of track options, great graphics, and some of the best net code of any of the milestone games.

Cons: Very stiff rider movements and steering, terrible corner anticipation on 1st person camera, leaning back slows you down, front end tucks incredibly easy, terrible global ranking system, dev team doesn't listen to their community, track builder is trash, sticker editor is misleading and nearly useless, AI are awful even after patch, track scaling is inconsistent, bike sounds are awful for some bikes, can't time attack custom tracks, and multiplayer lobbies are non-existent after only 4 months after release.

I was ranked #1 globally for the first 4 months of the game, competed in esports leagues and was active in the official MESX 6 discord, but even after all of the time I put into this game and my involvement in this community, I cannot recommend this game. Too much of this game is either copy-paste from previous editions, or just completely unpolished and unusable.

Milestone, if you ever catch wind of this, reach out to me. I manage an esports team that competes exclusively in your games, and we're pretty in-tune with the community. We can provide a lot of insight on the current version of MESX, as well as suggestions for future editions of MESX that would satisfy many members of the community on both the casual and competitive sides.

I Have genuinely enjoyed playing this game, but I will admit that if you can wait for a sale, I would definitely do that. $50 is a bit steep in my honest opinion. I don't think that this game will have much longevity to it.

I began this game on realistic difficulty with all of the assists turned off, and although it's been very challenging, the learning process has actually been quite fun. This particular game requires so much concentration that I've found it to be incredibly easy to lose myself in it, and because of that I've found this to be very relaxing to just zone out to.

Though I do recommend this game, there are two things I don't like about it. The scenery in this game kind of flickers as you go by and it can be incredibly distracting. I've adjusted my settings multiple times and have yet to mitigate this issue. There's also ZERO customization in this game, you have a list of professional racers to choose from and that's who you will play as throughout the season.

Aside from the two things listed above, this game is solid. This is my first sportbike game in ages and it's been humbling to play. Find me on Twitch if you'd like to see me struggle to go fast. xD

*Update: May 16, 2023*

I got into a multiplayer lobby for the first time yesterday with a friend that I've convinced to purchase the game. I ran into a bug when I opened the map that caused my HUD to disappear and rendered all of my controls unresponsive. I tried tabbing out and tabbing back in and I pressed every button on my controller and my keyboard, but I ultimately had to restart my game to regain functionality.

There also seems to be a large amount of desync in multiplayer. My buddy and I were sharing screens while we played online and found that there were multiple instances that we made contact during the race that didn't actually happen on our own screens. If the net coding could be improved, multiplayer could have much closer and enjoyable racing in the future.

In regards to the customization, if we could get a personal character, a selection of gear, helmets, bikes, and liveries, I think that would go a long way for a lot of players.

I loved it when I first played it back in 2015, and I still love it today. There's not much customization in the game, but the gunplay and the tactical aspects are what make this game what it is. I played this game on PS more than I did on PC, but now that all official servers and support are gone, this game only exists on PC now.

This game is very simple, only four classes, each class has a handful of weapons and attachments to choose from. Movement is about the same as any other shooter. The biggest difference is the respawn system: to respawn your teamates have to come to your body and provide aid to get you back in the round, but you can zip-tie the enemies bodies up to keep them from communicating with their team and keep them from being picked up that round. You can only be picked up once per round, so once you've been shot down twice, you're out for the remainder of the round. First team with 5 round wins, wins the match.

There's also an ability to surprise people from behind and choke them out. When you choke an opponent out their communication is immediately cut off from their team and they can't be picked up for the remainder of the round.

This is a shooter that I find myself returning to often. Though the graphics aren't amazing, I personally think the gameplay is, and the tactility and teamwork involved makes it that much better.

I enjoyed playing this game quite a bit. The online play is confined to a single map at the moment and finding a game with actually people is highly unlikely, but I still enjoyed playing the bots. The biggest downfall in this game is having a lack of online players, and because of the small amount of players, the time it takes to find a match is sort of lengthy. The game will search for 2:10-2:20 (Min:Sec) before it will fill the empty slots with bots and begin loading the match. So far that's my only complaint. I would give it a shot if you're thinking about it, it is free after all.

Very satisfied with this game! Take the time to do the training in the game, it will familiarize you with the controls and give you passive skill bonuses that help you through the rest of the game. It took some time to adjust from Monster Energy Supercross, the handling is a bit different. Less forgiving when you overjump, case, oversteer, and hammer the throttle out of the corners. If you wanna get it for a good price go to CD Keys, I pre-ordered my copy from there for $29 USD, and I saw that it went down to $26 USD after it was released. Definitely pleased, just put the time in because skill doesn't exactly come natually in this one.

Pros:
- Graphics are pretty good!
- Lots of custom components and gear.
- Net coding is much better for online multiplayer.
- More bike brands are available.
- 2 strokes!!!
- Challenging AI

Cons:
- Respawn to instant crash sometimes.
- Bike graphics are glitched in the pits sometimes.
- Parts and gear cost a rediculous amount of in-game currency.
- Weather is always random in multiplayer... always.
- In-air physics are still pretty stiff.
- Most of the tracks are way too narrow.

It's no Reflex, but it's still very enjoyable if you can look past the bugs until they're patched. Physics are a little odd when I'm in the air, espacially with the programmed whips catching me off guard sometimes. once you choose a sponsor kit for your bike there is no returning in career mode. I've somehow ended up on a 450 in the lites class a few times, and in the middle of my 450 series it somehow put me into the 250 east series lol

Pros:
- all the main bike brands are present
- graphics are pretty impressive
- more game modes
- multiplayer is pretty good (with collisions off)
- custom track building
- gameplay is enjoyable, even with the slightly awkward physics

Cons:
- Game has bugs... quite a few.
- sound will occasionally die from the bikes and announcers
- you occasionally end up on a 450 in a lites class
- if you put a sponsor graphic set on your bike in career mode, there's no going back
- I started a 450 series and when I returned to it the next day I was doing 250 east somehow.
- Physics are a little odd. not as bad as MvA SX Encore though. the bike tends to lose its forward momentum as soon as you're off the ground.
- Rider is stiff. not as bad as previous games but not as good as expected.
- no way to retire from a series without starting and retiring from each race individually in that series.
- constant trouble with server connection

Don't let the list of cons deter you from getting this game! This is, in my honest opinion, the best moto game to come out in at least the last 4 years. I've enjoyed most of the time I've spent playing this game so far. The DLC is a waste though, I personally wouldnt bother buying it, I regret making that purchase. Game gets a 7.6/10. If you liked MXGP 3, it's like a refined version with upgraded graphics and american tracks and riders.

Thank you to Milestone for keeping the MX gaming community alive! Keep working out the bugs because this game has a future.

Update Feb 20th, 2018

Some of the bugs mentioned have been patched, and some bugs that I didnt mention are patched as well (lol). No longer will you end up on a 450 in the lites class, no more muddy boots during customization, server connection isn't an issue anymore, and much more! Milestone seems to be responding very quickly to us by fixing these issues. I don't think It'll be much longer before all the bugs I've mentioned are patched.

I'll start with this, the game is not a simulation. I didn't expect it to be, but it appears that many other reviewers did. Don't let that streer you away from it though, this game is very fun to play. I enjoy this game quite a bit, even though on most occasions I prefer a simulator style racing game. The only downfall that I've come across is no matter how smooth it appears to be running, it tends to crash... a lot. It crashes every 2 races for me. It's very frustrating, and I've found in the discussions that it happens to many others as well. Graphics are good, vehicle selection is good, customization is decent, physics, although very different from previous game, are fun to play with. I normally get anywhere from 88-153 FPS with a GTX 1050 and it looks great, but for whatever reason, it constantly crashes and restarts. Good game in my opinion, just needs some bugs worked out.

Update Jan 30th 2018: Still no legitimate fix for the game crashes. Other players have found a way to keep the game from crashing, but in the instance that it would've crashed it drops frames from that point on. It's quite annoying. If a fix doesn't come soon from the devs, I'm going to have to switch my review to "Does not recommend". There's no fun in a game that crashes after 10 minutes of gameplay, only frustration. No point in wasting your hard earned money on a broken product.

So many people have said that DiRT Rally was better than this game, and that almost kept me from purchasing it. I actually prefer this over DiRT Rally, minus the lack of VR support. I think the career mode is a little more gradual in progression, which made things very easy to begin with. Starting off with a FWD Focus R2 was much more pleasant than starting off in that super slow 1960s Mini Cooper. The first stages in Michigan were SUPER mellow, which was way too easy to be fun, but was a great confidence booster before I purchased a crosscart and dicovered that I am certainly not Ken Block lol. Before I forget, there is more to do in DiRT 4 than in DiRT Rally. This game has Joyride minigames, freeride, crosscarts, offroad trucks, and you can start your own team. Online play is very enjoyable, spent a few hours today racing RX Supercars with a few guys and everybody was very friendly and there was surprisingly very little contact made in the corners. I haven't noticed the lack of graphic quality in the rally stages that many people have mentioned, I was more focused on the actual racing rather than sight seeing. I don't really have anything negative to say about this game except that it doesnt have VR support like DiRT Rally. Oh, actually, my spotter for rallycross is annoying af! I turned the speech volume all the way down so I don't have to listen to him.

This game is definitely one of the best rally games out there! It blows all the previous DiRT games out of the water with its realism! I just wish you had more livery options, or the ability to customize your cars like Forza Mortorsports.

Pretty good game! I didnt expect to like it and yet here I find myself wanting to play it. Definitely gets harder as you play, especially when you get to missions where there's nobody to help you out. The creatures you fight are constantly changing. There's so much action going on in this game, you'll be on you way to the next mission in the main story and pass straight through an arkfall and two episode missions, it's pretty cool. You can always just drop what you're doing and help people out with the missions that they're on if you really wanted to. It's completely open world and there are so many different weapons and perks. It's kinda like Borderlands, but without the comic book graphics. I can't really think of any downfalls to this game, I haven't seen any glitches or experienced anything that made me wanna rage quit yet. So it's definitely worth trying!
