Simply saying, Hades is a rogue game with permadeath and some bullet hell elements to it with great replay value.

Fantastic fast paced gameplay with Greek mythology theme added to it (which surprisingly isn't very well used), and wonderful cast of characters, insanely well put art style and awesome soundtrack.

I played this game small bit, I guess it's good.

The game was aimed to be a mix of Flatout and Demolition Racer and Wreckfest bring the best of both. While it doesn't include stunt mode like in Flatout games, the game has a very solid racing and even better demolition derby game modes. Wreckfest is housing at least 25 cars, varied from era of 60's till 2000's and some of them being quite unusual, like lawnmower, school bus and combine harvester. Most cars can be upgraded visually and by performance, going as far as swapping engines and reinforcing your car armor. Driving is enjoyable, game uses a great sim-cade handling model and possibly one of the best damage system in any racing games.

Career path is based on scores you obtain in certain events, some of them being championships and special events, like destroy all Reliant Robin cars in a track using a school bus. The AI can be a bit problematic sometimes, but they're not completely braindead. Some races can last quite a bit (at least 4 minutes for most part), but tracks in this game aren't really varied (limted to one city course, few stadiums, race tracks and dirt tracks in a similar environment) and few can find this game repetitive. As said before, demolition derby offers more fun and can be played with either normal or realistic damage.

Online multiplayer is again, solid for what it does. There's no competitive mode, although multiplayer works on dedicated servers and lets you create your own session, being private and public. Sessions can be setup with various options suitable for race, although it lacks ghost mode in normal races. Despite of a game's emphasis of wrecking cars, the game community is fairly decent and doesn't have many rammers, if session is aimed for more clean racing. Even if there are issues, game has tools for kicking, banning, assigning admins, etc.

If you like Flatout, you definitely gonna enjoy this game, but wouldn't say it's worth £40, as it still lacks features and there weren't many features added for the last half a year after game has reached final product. For now on it's best to wait for a sale. Game needs more varied tracks in a different environment, like desert and multiplayer races need a ghost option. Seeing a stunt mode is not necessary, but a welcome addition to Wreckfest, even if it's paid content.

Come for building cars, stay for Finnish perkele culture.

This game is 12 years old and we are still waiting for Half Life 3.
