About as textbook of an early launch as you can get. Tons of devs drop early access to games that need more time in the oven, and this one is no exception. But I will state here-- I recommend this game, just maybe not right now. Just playing the game, you can feel a good experience trying to claw out of janky movement, inconsistent hitboxes, and unresponsive controls. You hit a zombie over the head, but it doesn't feel good even despite the impressive damage system and gore reminiscent of Dead Island or Dying Light. For every great thing, there's one or two bad things, and that really sucks.

BUT 3.0 dropped recently, and I'm surprised to see the game is making progress (albeit slower than I'd like) toward a direction that might arrive at not only fun, but worthwhile. Chiv has been a fun game, and has had support for longer than I've even been an adult human, and that gives me faith that hopefully sometime soon, they'll fix the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, and deliver a worthy sequel to a great game.

tldr: Game is an investment right now, albeit an unfair one. Don't buy unless you're prepared to practically watch this thing grow up, but I really do believe it will in fact grow up.
