Metro 2033 is a single-player story game with a great atmosphere to go with the setting. You really feel like you are in Artyom's (The main character) shoes. The game is first and foremost a stealth game in my opinion, however you can go loud on lower difficulties. The Redux version also allows you to play 'Spartan' mode which makes ammo and filters abundant. I would recommend this for a first playthrough. It is for the people who mostly want the story, however if you want the full atmosphere then switch to survival. In survival, resources are about as plentiful as they would actually be after a nuclear war. Either way, the game is great with updated graphics and enhanced performance.
