Once in a while a game comes along that people call a "game changer" This game shifts the way that the gaming industry will view how games should be made, and how players should experience them. Super Mario defined the platforming genre, FFVII redefined characters, Half-life made fps about more than shooting hoards of enemies. These games changed the way players experienced games and what they expected to get from a game. These games forced developers to scrap their old concepts of what makes a game great and rebuild from the ground up. The Secret of the Magic Crystals cannot be called a “game changer” for it destroyed the concept of a game. Merely stating that it changed gaming is not enough for this masterpiece. Nothing anyone can say or do will ever be enough for this game and what it has brought to gaming. While people will remember Half-Life as a great game, they will remember SotMC as a great life changing and enlightening experience.
