Black Desert Online is an amazing mmorpg, however there are some downsides that should be taken note of when buying,

- Pros -

An amazing combat system with a large amount of skills and possible combos and paths, the awakening system does change the game past lvl 56 in a big way. The system still leaves room for players under 56 to be strong against players over 56 however small that room might be.

A shockingly kind community of people willing to help new, and returning players.

A large and expansive guild and clan system, where you can gain massive advantages by working as a team via guild skills.

Expansive guild quests and quest lines taking you all over the map at appropriate levels.

And finally a mount system that means you can tailor your horse to your needs via skill training.

- Cons -

This game has a strong basis in pay for convenience it is not a requirement and i got my first character up to lvl 57 without paying, but i have recently spend money to buy in game clothing that only offers a minor luck advantage(higher chances for better loot) with can be supplemented by items bought with in-game silver.

Red Players(~ish) as you kill other players and horses you lose something called karma, if this gets too low you gain a target on your back and can get into pvp anywhere. This system is amazing, until you play on a server and find someone camping just outside the safe zone, luckily pvp is locked till level 50.

Story, the story i kind particularly well, weak, i often find myself skipping any cutscene and any chat just to get through it, as it can be a wall of text.


- Overall -

Overall id give this game a 8/10 i will continue to play and spend my money in this game as it is one of the best mmo's that ive played and it is worth a try to see if its for you.

In 2015 i posted this review of Garry's Mod;
I have spent over 2000 hours playing this game alone, and I think I can safely say ill make it to 3000 in no time(well 1000 hours but you know what I mean) because this game has presented endless opportunity and endless different types of play, to this day I'm still finding new and fun ways to play this one simple game. Also for those who have the time, you can make your own play style and let other enjoy how you play the game aswell. This game, is amazing.

I no longer think this to be true i recently started playing the game again to find the magic that i had found in it gone, taken by micro-transaction filled servers and a toxic overall community. I know that some communities that dont take toxic attitudes but then they become totalitarian i respect that people will find the game fun but i no longer think people should play the game unless you're playing with friends.
