If I had to rate it, this is a 6/10 at best. I’m not even going to touch the performance issues—this is purely about the game itself.

The world is massive, but there’s almost no reason to explore it. It feels empty, with recycled locations and little payoff for venturing off the beaten path. Enemies are the same handful of generic types copied and pasted everywhere, and about 60% of them are “badass” level, which makes encounters more tedious than fun.

The story never grabbed me and felt more like background noise than something I wanted to follow. Gun variety is shockingly limited compared to past games, which kills the excitement of looting. Humor and likable characters—the series’ strongest points—are toned way down, leaving things feeling flat. To top it off, I’ve gotten two legendary drops that weren’t even for my character, which is just frustrating.

Overall, Borderlands 4 feels like it lost the spark that made the series stand out. Bigger doesn’t mean better, and this one just feels hollow.
