This game probably doesn't even need a review. You've probably already heard about how amazing this game is, so let me just reassure you... This game is awesome.

If you enjoyed games like Amnesia: Dark Descent, you are going to love this game as well. This has all the same mechanics: Run or die, Grab and pull, Explore and learn.

I would love to talk about the masterpiece of a story they've written here, but I don't want ruin anything for you. What I will say, is this game touches on a lot of tough subjects, and forces you into those situations. You both love, and hate being thrust into these decisions.

By the end of this game, I was both happy and sad that it was over. I can't usually play these horrors games, but this game is totally worth playing. My first playthrough took just over 13.5hrs. $30 is a steal for a AAA game like this. I look forward to doing another play through.... in a few months after I recover from the first time 'round.

There are quirks to this game where it's both good and bad. There's very little game music, which makes the atmosphere very ominous, but can also get pretty boring. When the music does come in, it scares the crap out of you.

Visually, this game is very well done. The graphics aren't super realistic, but real enough for you to be able to experience the immersion. The effects, and lighting are done just right. You can almost always see what you're doing, but it's dark enough to keep you nervous and jumpy. The creatures in this game are creepy, and definitely have you running away in fear.

Controls... This is a touchy topic for me. I play with mouse and keyboard. This game handles very well, although it did feel like the mouse sensitivity could have been better. Other than that, there's no real inventory to speak of, which is fine, but the style of inventory they used needs better explanation. I didn't know what it was until almost the very end of the game. Overall, the actual movements, and mechanics were great.

If I were to rate this game, I would give it a 9/10. This game amazing, and I don't hand out scores like that lightly. Everything from the story, right down to small opened tin cans with bits of food still in the bottom. This game is lovingly crafted, and it shows. Buy this game.
