Great game.
As a fan of both the Total War series and the Warhammer world. The 3rd in the series build more upon what was already there.

Unfortunately I can't recommend this game, instead I'd STRONGLY recommend playing the actual tabletop.

Bad Game Master: Game mechanics and rules change for plot purposes, which is something that can be avoided with actual tabletop.

Some spells just don't work: Like alter self, you are unable to alter self, steal, alter self to be un noticed... for some reason everyone in Baldours Gate has "True Seeing" - https://www.dndbeyond.com/spells/true-seeing

Companions are really bad: I wouldn't allow any of there backstorys for a level 1 campaign, especially Gales. They all have elaborate epic backgrounds making the player character the sidekick.

Companions also wish to be taken to certain areas where you get special diologs, I found it un-fun trying to work out who wants to go to what section so as to not miss out on important conversations.

The only solution I could come to was to just not care about the companions at all, which is supposed to be a big part of the game.

Game tells me not to long rest: So I didn't, and got quite far without long resting... which punished me with missing out on social options and companion cut scenes. I mean the game literaly told me there is an in-game time limit that don't exist...

World: What a load of crap. The Lore has been altered dramatically and what is with the gnomes, dwarfs and myriad of weird Druids? I think most people expect wood elfs when they hear Druid, and there is a reason for that. By subverting expectations in that regard, it removes some of what the wood elfs are.

TLDR:
Just play actual tabletop.

While some things are annoying like navigating menus, actually playing the game is fun.

Shooting aliens is a good time, classes with simple progression. I'm not a massive fan of crazy progression in arcade-ish shooters, but this is simple and fun. Playing a tetras style game to choose perks and fit them on a board.

I got this as a gift from my brother, thou due to my love of the original always intended to get it!

Amazing game!
I am glad the IP was respected and it makes for one of the best remakes I have ever played!

While I have a few issues with some of the designs of characters, they are mostly models from Advent Children so there is no weird adjustment (Rude & Tseng are the exception to this)

As a big fan of Final Fantasy 7 I can't express how happy I was to play this. Knowing what was going to come next, even conversations due to my love of the original and I wasn't disappointed.

Remade scenes are amazing to see with amazing graphics and voice acting, adding more power and emotion to a game already packed with them. There are even additions to the story, things that all make seance mind you! Perhaps perspectives from party members you didn't get to see previously, or just additional content to make the story more rich and full (If you do all the side jobs when you get the chance you will see what I mean!).

The combat is fun, fast paced and action based. It still holds some "turn based-ness" with a bar that fills when you attack. You need a full bar to do anything other than attack, block, dodge or swap character... like to cast a spell or use an ability! It feels good while playing, letting you build up your teams action bars then get them to all let loose with crazy attacks!

All in all strongly recommend, I think old fans and even people never played can enjoy this, and it is well worth £40, I'd have gone £70 if I wasn't so poor at the time, and not felt robbed!

Good Total War fun!

Each faction plays like one from an old total war game, keeping things fresh and fun.

Takes time to get used to magic and monsters for new comers.

So what I think it comes down to is...

Do you like the RWBY series?

If yes you will probably enjoy this.

Because shooting cars to set off there allarms and shutting your friends out the safe room is fun <3

Recomendation: Maybe when it is on offer. Untill then, play Fallout: New Vegas

POTENTIAL SPOILERS HERE!

Worst of all the Fallout games, but this is not to say it isn't fun in it own rite.

So I got the Pip-boy edition whitch I don't regret because of the awesome Pip-boy! I think the down side comes down to the conversation options and skills...

Skills: In previous Fallout games you could use skills more diversely, for instance using the medicine skill to determine a cause of death or explosives skill to disarm bombs

You could use these skills, or even your S.P.E.C.I.A.L., within conversations, like strength to help intimidate, intellect to help convince or medicine to explain an illness to someone.

Conversation: Using the wheel makes it feel more like a Telltales game, witch is okay... But Telltales games you more follow a story than anything, you will more often than not end up in the same state as others playing the game, it is an interactive movie.

With the select 4 wheel option you are very restricted in what you can say to people and what information you can get from them... You can't have random conversations with your allies, you have to wait for them to approach you about a topic they wish to talk about. Want to know how Piper feels about the Brotherhood? Me to!

There is also a lot of things overlooked like the ability to tell your townsfolk to use power armor, upgrading the minutemen you can call in to help, sending them on missions and even leading them down a darker rout... these are just a few examples, there are plenty of other things.

Couple of noteable complaints... why dose every brotherhood member I see tell me to join them? when I get there I am told "You wouldn't normally be allowed in, this guy put in a good word though so yeah". I can't seem to be the bad guy, my only options are to be good! closest thing I get to being evil, is eating the corpses of my enemies... I may have eaten some settelers to! >:D but that has had no long term effects, still get people comeing to my town when I use the bacon... I mean beacon!

This all said, it isn't a bad game... It has kept me playing for a good long while with the amount of content in it, and the ability to build up towns is awesome!

I think when I come back to re-visit the Fallouts in the future, I will play one of the others. Fallout 4 seems to have been simplified compared to the others, maybe that is how it is so full of content?
