If I could give this game a mixed review/recommendation I would.

The Visuals, Audio, VA, Animations are all high quality work. Even though the game is considered by most as a walking simulator, if the story is good then it shouldn't matter right.

Well.... the story was definitely a mixed bag for me. I never really connected/got to know any of the other characters fully (besides Senua ofc), due to the limited play-time and at times rushed sections of the game. I just felt like I was getting pushed through a bunch of “set pieces”, and being told to care the entire time.

The gameplay side was also really weak in my opinion, with basic puzzles of matching symbols and moving objects to pedestals for reasons I guess. But the main thing that drove me mad was the combat. Oh My Lord. It's so janky and repetitive. Especially in the second half of the game, where they throw a constant barrage of enemies in these 1v1 engagements, that don’t feel good at all and you just wish it was over.

I’ll also note that on my RTX 3070 (@1440p), I was getting probably half a dozen frame drops during my playtime. Most of the game I was at 60-70fps at Medium Settings with DLSS on Auto. But, there were times when I got down to as low as 5-10fps, which happened during the last boss fight. So having janky combat and PowerPoint Slideshow levels of performance didn’t really help that much.

In short, I can easily recommend Hellblade 1 just for the unique concept alone. The sequel I’m not too sure if it’s worth the time and money personally.

Even for $20 (AUD) for the gold edition it's not worth it. Co-Op was the only thing that made this bearable and even that barely works with constant glitches, crashes and challenge progress being inconsistent. This is NOT fun, it's just a boring chore. DONT BUY IT, play Saint's Row 2-4 instead. You'll be happier.

Just play Shadow Warrior 2 again. Shadow Warrior 3 is just a short 5-6 hour Doom Eternal clone, and an average one at that.
