I thought I'd try this game out, then the next thing I knew, the sun was coming up and I abruptly realized my throat was sore from dehydration. It's good. It's the most-loved, best-gameplay-optimized, most tightly polished tycoon game I've ever played and it's not even close. There's kind of an accidental puzzle element to it too? It's got none of the annoying crap that some tycoon games have. The devs are GREAT and love biology as much as we do. I never thought anything could dethrone Zoo Tycoon 1 as my all time favorite management game, but Megaquarium is so good that even with no nostalgia factor it blows it out of the water.

Wait for a sale if you want all the DLCs. Worth the chunky price tag, don't get me wrong, but it is a chunky price tag. Also: my kingdom for some new music tracks and an undo button.

It's a surprisingly deep tycoon game where you can micromanage to your heart's content but aren't specifically required to to make progress. Catnip for autistic folks.

Unbearably cute. The nicest tech demo I've ever played. A good cheer-up game. Surprising amount of visual storytelling, somehow? You have brawn, brains, and traction on ice. Kid-friend has thumbs, treats, and a mission. Very pure, very safe, very much captures the innocence and nostalgia of being a little kid playing in the woods near your house. This game actually legitimately helped me with calming self-care for PTSD.

This is a tentative recommendation. Progress is *slowwwww* compared to other idle games and there's an option to buy and sell daily task rewards on the marketplace, which I'm always leery of. Dailes are time consuming. Aesthetics are adorable and totally on point. Music is great, but it needs several more tracks to avoid being repetitive. It's a good game and I like it a lot! Just be aware that it *drags.*

Gacha game without the gacha price tag. Very cute, very simple. The Law of Large Numbers and the gold packs will save you if you're achievement hunting. Don't even try to get all the rainbow fish. It's good for a quick cheap dopamine hit in this uncaring cold world. The devs are planning to release this but with birds soon and i cannot wait to play it but will probably never touch this game again.

Fun little game with an addictive gameplay loop and cute pixel art. The dev says he only used AI for help with code and translation, so if you take him at his word on that, it's worth the $3 or so I paid. Looking forward to his next project-- so long as he continues to do the creative portion of his work himself!

I'm not gonna lie to you. It's not for everyone. If you lack the personality necessary to enjoy a tedious grind and managing your merry band of idiots while a cute cartoony cast of voice actors gently shovels mild, aggressively British humor into your ear, you will *violently* hate this game.

I, however, have been diagnosed with moderate Autism Spectrum Disorder, and this game is basically catnip for me. Apparently all the Two Point games are like this? TPM is my first. I love decorating all my funky little exhibits and creating a cohesive "backstage" for my staff to live in and collecting all the weird little things that Two Point made for me to find. It's a combination of all my favorite parts of the following franchises: Animal Crossing (cute art style, collectathon/decorating/ fish collection + display), the old school Rollercoaster/ Zoo tycoon games (business management/ workflow planning/ finance management/ animal care via fish), anything with level grinding, microtransaction-free gacha games (RNG buzz with no financial commitment and without the odds being frustrating), and idle games (number go up hurrrr). It has Viva Pinata vibes somehow in a way I can't explain? I cannot stress enough that TPM is a SLOW BURN, especially if you've got a perfectionist streak. I am 15 hours in at time of writing and have not even cracked into the supernatural stuff.

If you like this game, you WILL have a favorite genre of exhibit. Mine, so far, is fish followed closely by botany. Another person I know adores the space stuff, and my husband is excited to watch me get into the supernatural stuff.

TL;DR: tedious for most; viciously addictive for fellow autists.

This plays like all the best parts of those old online flash games from the early 2000s and a virtual pet sim. Great for those days when you feel too exhausted to exist and you want to look at cute little guys. The frog packs aren't overwhelming or repetitive and it perfectly hits the sweet spot with its RNG so it's exciting without being frustrating. If you like gacha games with no microtransactions this one rules.

I have no idea what this game was like at launch but it's been amazing and fun since I jumped in. Endless joy to be had. I've been using glitches to redo old expeditions I missed and that's been a ton of fun. This game is at its best when you have a goal, so jumping back in and playing the hell out of it after every update has been my speed with it. The base building is less a janky construction system than pure unmitigated jank that occasionally breaks out into building tools. NMS is the exact opposite of the enshittification trend that's been ripping through the games industry (and the entire rest of the global economy too if i'm honest). This is a nearly 10yo game that just got a graphical overhaul to a lot of its major parts and a mechanical overhaul to its expedition system. Big recommend if you like a big space game.
