Příběh a scénář

Postavy

Vedlejší postavy jsou napsány solidně a mají jasně rozpoznatelné charaktery. Donova dcera Issabella vyniká svou tajemností a energií, Luka je vzorem loajality a pravidel, zatímco Cesare ztělesňuje bezstarostnost a chuť užívat si života. Don je charismatický a díky kvalitnímu dabingu působí přesvědčivě, i když zůstává tajemný.

Nejslabším článkem je paradoxně hlavní postava – Enzo postrádá výrazné charisma a emocionální hloubku, kterou měli jeho předchůdci. To oslabuje celkovou investovanost hráče do příběhu.

Hratelnost

Verdikt

+ Krásné prostředí a atmosféra Sicílie
+ Kvalitní vedlejší postavy a dabing
+ Skvělá grafika a optimalizace
+ Působivý soundtrack
+ Velmi poutavý a skvěle napsaný příběh

− Přehnaná podobnost s původní Mafií
− Nevhodné herní mechaniky (souboje nožem, vylepšování zbraní)
− Slabší hlavní postava
− Chybějící ikonické prvky série

Review: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 – beautifully dark, uniquely intense

There are games that catch your eye instantly... and then there are those that bury themselves deep under your skin. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is definitely the latter for me. I didn’t expect it to hit this hard, but from the very first moment I stepped into Gustav’s shoes, I knew I was in for something different. Something deeper.

Dying by a number – fighting against fate

The game begins on a melancholic note. Gustave is saying goodbye to the woman he loves. Why? Because in this world, a painted number means death. A mysterious painter living on a distant island paints a new number every year — and anyone who exceeds that age simply disappears. Humanity is slowly dying off, until one day the number inevitably reaches zero.

That’s the driving force behind the expedition. Gustave, Lune, and a handful of others set out to stop this cruel cycle. But things quickly go wrong. Upon landing on the island, the group is ambushed by a mysterious figure. Almost everyone dies, and only Gustav and Lune remain. Together, they must press on — not just to survive, but to confront the truth and their purpose.

Gustave & Lune – a duo worth remembering

These two characters are the emotional core of the game. Their personalities, abilities, and visual styles complement each other beautifully. They feel determined, grounded, and real. You can sense that they both carry something heavy — and that they’re not fighting blindly, but with conviction.

Their chemistry isn’t just narrative fluff — it plays a major role in combat, too. The way their abilities blend can often turn the tide of a fight.

Combat: reflexes, tactics, and nerves of steel

The combat system is hands-down the game’s strongest pillar. Clair Obscur builds most of its gameplay around battles — and while that could feel repetitive in other titles, here it just works.

It’s a mix of turn-based tactics and real-time reflex mechanics. Every move counts, and you constantly have to adapt. Small enemies? Fast and dodgy, dealing low damage. Large enemies? Slow but brutal, and barely dodgeable. The result is a tense, strategic experience where you’re always on your toes.

It reminded me of the best parts of Darkest Dungeon and Hearthstone, with a fresh twist.

Stunning visuals… with a few caveats

Visually, this game is absolutely breathtaking. The art direction, the facial animation, the mood — it’s all incredibly well executed. But there’s a technical side to it that deserves mention.

On PC, there’s no DLSS or AMD FSR upscaling support — only TSR and Intel XeSS. And frankly, XeSS sometimes made the image look blurry or pixelated, especially in motion. I ended up turning it off and sticking to native resolution, even if that meant sacrificing a bit of performance.

Still, the game is well-optimized overall. I consistently got 80–120 FPS on high settings, which is impressive. There were some odd lighting bugs though — like one room that looked pitch black from outside, then lit up completely once I stepped inside, with no visible light source. It’s a minor issue, but a bit immersion-breaking.

Repetition and information overload

Here’s where things get a bit trickier. The core gameplay loop doesn’t evolve much — it’s battle, explore, cutscene, repeat. Personally, I enjoyed it, but I can see how it might wear others down.

Also, the game sometimes overwhelms you with information. There are tons of RPG systems, stats, elements, crafting, enhancements... and the game doesn’t always explain them clearly. For example, upgrading weapons was confusing until I realized I needed to find a specific NPC for it.

Menus can be cluttered or unintuitive, and things like assigning Lumins or upgrading abilities often left me scratching my head. I had to revisit the tutorial a few times or resort to looking things up online just to figure out what something did.

Atmosphere, variety, and creative brilliance

Despite all that, what kept me playing — and loving — this game was the atmosphere. It’s haunting, magical, and layered. Every location feels like it has a soul. The environments are incredibly varied, beautifully designed, and emotionally charged.

This game draws inspiration from many sources — Dark Souls (the flags as bonfire equivalents), Darkest Dungeon (combat tone), Hearthstone (turn-based decisions) — but never feels like a clone. It's a homage done right.

Music that will bury deep under your skin

One element that truly deserves special praise is the musical score. The soundtrack in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is breathtaking and enhances every corner of the world you explore. It's one of those rare games where you might find yourself pausing on a cliffside, taking in the view — not just for the scenery, but to listen to the music. The original soundtrack (OST) brings a deep emotional layer to the game, but it especially shines during combat. Each battle features a unique musical theme, perfectly tailored to the mood and tone of the fight. The more intense the music becomes, the more it emphasizes the seriousness and weight of the confrontation.

There was one standout moment that stuck with me — a fight against a Mime boss, where the soundtrack shifted into something playful and whimsical, almost like something you'd hear in the heart of Paris. It was such a surprising yet fitting twist that made the encounter unforgettable. Honestly, the last time I was this impressed with a game's combat music was with Devil May Cry 5.

Final Thoughts:
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a powerful, unique experience. It's not flawless — it has rough edges, a few technical stumbles, and a slightly repetitive loop — but its strengths far outweigh the weaknesses. I’m genuinely amazed that such a small team created something this bold and beautiful.

If you’re into tactical combat, emotionally driven stories, and atmospheric worlds — this is a MUST PLAY. Few indie games manage to be this polished, this ambitious, and this unforgettable.

🎮 Review – The Last of Us Part II

🧠 Introduction

When I first launched The Last of Us Part II, I knew I was in for something powerful—but I had no idea just how much. The story takes place several years after the first game. Ellie is now a nineteen-year-old woman—more mature, tougher, but still with that same sharp tongue that defines her.
The game opens with Joel and Tommy in a garage. Joel is cleaning his guitar and telling Tommy about what happened in the hospital in Salt Lake City—how he saved Ellie by killing almost everyone, including the surgeon who was supposed to create a cure. Ellie was meant to be the key to humanity’s salvation, but Joel couldn’t let her die. He asks Tommy to never tell Ellie the truth, fearing it would break her. Tommy agrees, and the two return to Jackson, where they now live.
After a brief farewell, Joel visits Ellie and plays a song for her on his guitar. Then we jump to the present—Ellie is prepping for patrol with her friend Jesse and Dina, Jesse’s ex-girlfriend.
Meanwhile, we’re introduced to a new character—Abby. Strong, determined, and focused on a single goal: finding Joel Miller. Why? Because Joel killed her father—the doctor from the Salt Lake City hospital. Abby seems to live by the biblical saying, “an eye for an eye,” and she follows that path with brutal clarity.
Tragically, she succeeds. The scene where Joel dies is devastating. I broke down in tears—it was painful to watch, both as a player and through Ellie’s eyes. From this point on, rage and revenge consume Ellie. Together with Dina, she sets out to find Abby and make her pay.

🌍 World and Atmosphere
Once again, the developers have created a rich, haunting world—full of dangers, secrets, and eerie, abandoned places. There are still Clickers, Bloaters, and new types of infected that release deadly gas (I still can’t remember their names, but they’re terrifying).
The world remains mostly untouched—some scattered human settlements, but it’s still the same brutal wasteland we know from the first game. Only now it feels even more immersive and threatening.

🎭 Characters & Story
Ellie has changed. Not on the surface, but deep inside. Her obsession with revenge drives her every action. It slowly turns her into something else—someone darker. The game dares to do something bold: it makes you question your own role. Ellie starts to look more and more like the villain, while Abby, who "only" avenged her father, begins to seem... human.
Abby is a complicated character. It’s not easy to connect with her—partly because of her physical appearance—but her story is real and painful. She loses her friends, her status, everything.
Dina, on the other hand, is a warm, grounded presence. She brings light to the darkness around Ellie, offering empathy and support—like a mother holding everything together.
This contrast between characters adds so much depth to the narrative and makes it incredibly powerful.

🕹️ Gameplay and Design
The game looks absolutely stunning. Graphically and technically, it's top-tier. With FSR, RTX, and great optimization, it runs smoothly and looks fantastic.
The core gameplay remains true to the first game—stealth, crafting, scavenging—it all works perfectly. There are subtle improvements, like the ability to craft a silencer, which is super useful for silent kills.
Ellie and Abby have unique mechanics. Ellie has a permanent knife for stealth kills, while Abby must craft hers. These little differences keep things fresh and strategic.
The enemy AI has been significantly improved—if you kill one enemy, others will notice their absence, search the area, and if they find a body, they’ll alert the group. It forces you to think more carefully and plan ahead.

🎵 Music and Sound
Just like the first game, the music is incredible. It knows when to stay quiet and when to rise. Through the Valley completely won my heart—it became my personal anthem.
The sound design is also terrifyingly good. I can’t count how many times I was scared just from hearing a Clicker hiss through my headphones, or a Stalker breathing around the corner. It’s unbelievably immersive.

❤️Summary
The Last of Us Part II isn’t just a game. It’s an emotional grenade, a powerful story of pain, revenge, and humanity. It challenges you—it makes you feel. Whether you can forgive Abby, or grieve Joel, is up to you.
To me, this sequel raised the bar. The characters are phenomenal, the atmosphere is oppressive in the best way, the music is flawless, and the gameplay is tight and refined. The graphics and performance are at the top of their game. And yes—I’ll absolutely play it again in New Game+.

🎮 Review – The Last of Us Part I

🧠 Introduction

When I first launched The Last of Us, it felt like a whole new world had opened up in front of me. I had known about this game for a long time — seen clips, heard the story — but since I didn’t have a PlayStation, I was never able to truly experience it. That all changed when it came to PC.

Right from the start, the game made me feel deeply connected to Joel. In just one day, he loses his daughter, his world, everything he knew and loved. It was absolutely devastating, and it makes you empathize with him immediately. The game makes you feel, and it does so brilliantly. It pulls you in and holds on with this strange, beautiful power.

🌍 World & Atmosphere
The world feels mysterious — like you’ve been living underground and are stepping out into the unknown after twenty years. You don’t know where danger could be hiding, who’s around the corner, or even what you're doing. That eerie uncertainty is everywhere.

The silence in some areas is downright unsettling — you never know who or what is nearby, and the game thrives on that tension. This post-apocalyptic world is brutal. You quickly realize that survivors aren’t necessarily allies. Many just want to rob or kill you. It all feels hauntingly real — almost *too* real at times. I truly hope nothing like this ever becomes reality.

🎭 Characters & Story
Joel is a deeply defined character. After losing his daughter, he becomes bitter and closed off. He feels like someone who’s ready to die because there’s nothing left worth living for. But as he spends more time with Ellie, you see him start to change. He begins to feel again. He opens up, slowly, and it's beautiful to witness that transformation.

And Ellie? She’s a total badass. She’s been through more than most people twice her age, and she’s not afraid to say what she thinks — even if that means shouting “Screw you” right in someone’s face. She’s rough, real, and absolutely unforgettable.

At first, Joel and Ellie keep their distance from one another, but as the story progresses, they slowly form a bond. And watching that bond grow is one of the most rewarding parts of the game.

🕹️ Gameplay & Design
The gameplay is engaging, but you also have to be careful. One small mistake and a clicker will tear you apart — fast. Human enemies are no joke either. They can take advantage of even minor slip-ups and turn them into full-blown disasters.

That said, both human and infected enemies in this game feel a bit "dumber" compared to Part II, which makes the challenge feel more manageable. Still, run into a Bloater, and you'll have your hands full — trust me.

Exploration, collecting parts, crafting — it all feels meaningful and satisfying. It adds depth and gives you tools to overcome difficult areas. And as for design? Honestly, it’s breathtaking.

Put this game next to something like Cyberpunk, and I’d say The Last of Us comes out ahead. The detail in the environments, ruins, characters, and animations — even down to how you upgrade your weapons — is phenomenal. The gore is visceral but well-balanced, and it adds a gritty realism that fits the tone perfectly.

🎵 Music & Sound
The soundtrack, composed by Gustavo Santaolalla, is pure perfection. It captures the emotion of every scene with eerie precision.

As for sound design — this is where headphones shine. Playing with speakers just doesn’t compare. Every clicker noise, every environmental detail, becomes a part of the tension and immersion.

Hearing a distant stream or a creaking floorboard isn’t just background noise — it puts you there. It’s chilling, and it’s brilliant.

❤️ Summary
The Last of Us Part I is, without exaggeration, a masterpiece. Naughty Dog created something truly unforgettable. And I don’t just mean the remake — even the original version was a milestone in gaming.

It’s a game I’ll always come back to. Every six months or so, I find myself wanting to replay it — to go through that incredible post-apocalyptic journey with Joel and Ellie once more.

To me, this game is a gem. One of the most powerful, emotional experiences you can have in gaming. Everyone should try it.

Recenze: Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

Například mechaniku skákání do stran, připomínající Maxe Payna (bez zpomalení času), a možnost odemykat „wildcards“.

Review of Once Human

Genre: Survival, Open World, MMO
Developer: NetEase Games
Platform: PC

Story and Premise:
Once Human takes you into a chaotic and dangerous world where the player assumes the role of a Mayfly – a resurrected warrior with a single mission: to eradicate the creatures and the Rossetta corporation that have overrun the world. Your task is to free the world from this evil and restore order.

Gameplay Mechanics:
The game combines looter/shooter elements with rich survival mechanics. Players move from quest to quest, exploring the world, gathering resources, building their bases, killing monsters, and obtaining rare materials that are used to craft weapons, gear, and armor. This mechanic offers a wide range of possibilities, and players have practically free rein, ensuring a deep and satisfying gaming experience.

Graphics and Sound:
The graphical aspect of the game is stunning. It is clear that the developers have paid great attention to detail and the visual atmosphere of the world. Unfortunately, the game's optimization is not without flaws. Players might encounter frame rate drops and occasional stuttering, which can disrupt the smoothness of the gaming experience. However, the sound design is of high quality. Each battle is enriched with its own soundtrack, adding tension and immersing players deeper into the action.

Positives:
Once Human excels in offering players freedom and creativity. The ability to do practically anything is liberating and contributes to high replayability. Players can build bases, explore different areas, and customize their gameplay experiences according to their preferences.

Negatives and Areas for Improvement:
However, the game has its shortcomings that would be good to address in the future:
- Vehicle handling and control:Motorcycles and cars need adjustments to make their handling more natural and smoother.
- Game optimization: Frame rate drops and stuttering should be resolved for a better gaming experience.
- Limit on Straroid extraction: The current weekly limit of 40 is restrictive, and increasing it would be a welcome change.
- Restricted game world: Although the world is open and large, players only have access to a portion of it. Expanding accessible areas could provide more exploration opportunities.
- Level cap: The current player level is capped at 50, which is problematic when some enemies are higher than level 50.
- Sanity system: The player's sanity decreases when exploring, which can be critical and not always fun. Revising this system could improve gameplay.

Conclusion:
Once Human is an ambitious game that offers a rich world full of possibilities and challenges. Despite some technical issues and gameplay limitations, it has the potential to become a great title in the survival MMO genre. With further adjustments and optimizations, it could provide an even better experience for players seeking a deep and free-form game in an open world.

Note. From each season you have Fresh start, which means you have to level up your character again, build your base and get geared up. So be aware if you spent too much grind to it.
