Discord needs to go

It has come to my attention that the many short comings of the Discord application tend to be over looked by the masses & I won't stand for it any more, its time to bring the facts to light.

Just to be clear, discord if fine for little Timmy & his friends to play Minecraft on after school, but for any form of organised gaming groups, e.g. an Arma III or Holdfast Regiment, it is less then ideal to say the least.

I would like to share some of my own experiences with the so called "superior chat platform". People I play games with will know I love the classics like Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) & Star Wars Republic Commando, 2 games that get the short end of the stick when I have discord installed, I couldn't join any multiplayer servers on BFII until I literally deleted every file of Discord on my PC. A few months later I felt like playing through Republic Commando, at this point I had reinstalled Discord out of necessity to communicate with the other Holdfast Regiments, however I found Republic Commando kept crashing when I tried o launch it, at first I just thought it was a classic case of "old game on modern PC" however after browsing some forums I found that it was Discord causing the Crashing, so after once again deleting every file, my game worked. This next one is mos recent & it pissed me off the most. I recently got my hands of Red Dead Redemption 2 on Steam, & after a long 2 day download, I started the first 15 hours of gameplay fine. After the necessity for me to communicate with other members of the Holdfast community came up again, I reluctantly reinstalled discord for the 3rd time, I had no plan to play any old school game any time soon so I wasn't too worried, however the moment I tried to play Red Dead after I reinstalled Discord, my game crashed after I tried to continue my story!!! After deleting every discord file for the 3rd time & getting fellow CG Regiment member Drummond to help fix my Red Dead I had enough!!! I told myself I would never again install Discord on my Desktop. Still recognising the necessity to communicate with the Holdfast community I installed the Discord app on my phone, so far nothing bad has come of that, but it did bring to my attention how similar Discord is to a typical social media group chat like Messenger Instagram and Snapchat & how inappropriate it is for a community like Holdfast, a game which is essentially designed exclusively for Regiments to use it.
