You rolled a 1... You die.

So I'm back in America, and I still have an underdark campaign planned.

Something that I didn't do last time that I should probably do now is talk with everybody about goals as a party. Since I've never played with any of you before, I can't really say for sure I know what kind of campaign will keep everybody entertained.

So I'd like to have a little talk/survey.

Campaigns in RPGs usually have two extremes, Dungeon Crawl vs. Multiplayer Storytelling.

Dungeon Crawl is mostly numbers and dice, killdatbaguy n' getdatloot. It plays like a fairly one-dimensional rougelike with little story. Think Final Fantasy 1, Save the Princess and then save the world by killing th ings. Lots of things. There is usually no railroading, interplayer playing-niceness is optional. Level 10+ is the most fun for these games

Multiplayer Storytelling eschews most dice rolls and numbers for telling a good story, somewhat like a novel. Crucial parts of the plot are revealed either through player fiat or GM Railroadage. Stories along this line usually require good player cooperation and usually limit character generations options to certain races/classes. These campaigns are usually a lot more deadly than Dungeon Crawl, since they usually hinge on there being a higher power at be that is Much Stronger Than You.

Most campaigns fall somewhere between the two playstyles. I can plan either, I currently have more of an espionage-geared game planned.

So, I would like everybody if possible to send me an E-Mail with your steam name (Or whatever name I know you by) with what you would prefer in a campaign, more beat-em-up or Heist, goals, etc. A short summary or character concept is encouraged.

The setting is Underdark so I'm going to be fairly lenient with races. The major city in question will be the city of Menzoberranzan which has a Drow caste system based on house heirarchy with an underclass of other races including Deep Dwarves, Gnomes, Bugbears, the occasional minotaur, lizard people, goblins for cheap labor, kobolds, and other underdark races. More vanilla underdark races are encouraged, but an overworld race with backstory reasons for being in the underdark is also acceptable.

Chargen rules:
-Maximum Level Adjustement+2
-No more than one template per character
-I will scale down stat bonuses for up to LA+4 races to a LA+2 equivalent upon request. Such homebrewed races will be slightly weaker than most LA+2 races.
-Charaters will be level 8 (Level 6 for LA+2 races, level 7 for LA+1)
-You are allowed to pick one book outside Core books (Player's Handbook, DM guide, Monster Manuals) for expanded races, classes, and spells. Book chosen must be confirmed with me.
-Confirm all finalized characters with me.
