TM larp E.o.Y.E. End of Year Event

Hey all. I know I haven't had very much to do with the page, but this is me (Matt) picking up the pace a little especially for this last big event of the year. I thought I might add to Alex's last announcement, and to tell you a little about how we want to run the event.

Like Al said, you need to come up with teams of 4-5 members (feel free to invite new friends to join our group for the event) Come up with a theme for your group, like Ancient Roman, Spartan, Cavaliers, etc. Then, democratically choose a group leader to put the team name in, so that we can keep score of teams on the scoreboard on the day

Please all keep in mind, that your team leader may need to give orders in some events (Spoilers!) So try to choose someone who you think can do that job, and help your team win at all costs.

Try to come in some kind of costume that is appropriate for use in public, and for you to run around fighting in, because it is probably going to be considerably much hotter when the event comes around.

Think seriously about what sort of weapons you want to make, and how they can be used in the events/battles etc. We will release a list of challenges/battles we intend to fit in on the day, as well as how many points you can win for your team in each.

If you get carried away enough (If you ask me, you can't get too carried away with doing this stuff), you may even feel like making a battle standard for your team.

I will keep posting more things you need to know for the event, such as minimum requirements for weapons/shields etc. Along with some specifications for weapons so that no-one gets hurt.

a new event!

Finally we might have a chance to get together again for possibly our last event before the year twelves graduate. This event however will be very different to most others. you will have to form your own warband/raiding party/faction of 4 to 5 companions, get to making your weapons and designing your costumes. Each team member will pay $5 entery and the winners take 70% of the total proceedings (the rest will go toward food and drinks).

The event will include some different ideas we're in the process of cooking up, like;
. team vs team combat
. single combat stand off
. team quests (challenges)
. and points for best costume

As for building your own weapons you and your team can design them however you like, however there are some safety standards you will have to meet, just so's that we can make sure that everyone stays safe whilst we're conquering eachother. One of the admins will type up a page on that at a later date.

Please note, this is not parallel to our fantasy storyline, (which between you and me, hasn't done so well) Your group/warband/raiding party/faction is yours to come up with, for example, Alex, Matt and Ben are going at the event Viking themed, so, get creative, come up with ideas, (run them past us first please), and let's have a really good event.

As for the actual date we will probably host the event in three weeks time, at the start of school holidays so make haste and choose your team mates wisely.

Just to get an idea of numbers can you guys please just go to the bottom of this page, and 'rate up' to show you're interested even if you dont have a team just yet.

So, get on out there, and start making those banners, putting on your warpaint, and donning your armour, because this's going to be bigger than the battle of 5 armies.
